We recently appile update rollout 1 for CRM 3.0. Since then we have not been able to create an Order from a Quote. When we attempt the creation, we recieve the following error: Error: Could not complete the operation due to error 80020101. Creating a Quote from an Opportunity works. As does Order from Opportunity and Invoice from Order. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi We are a software distribution company that maintains annual software support contracts with end user customers. The billing relationship is with our reseller so when a contract is due to expire we have to inform our reseller not the customer. To manage this relationship in the contract I list the customer in the customer field and the reseller in the bill to customer's field. But I cannot find where I can change the email notification to go to the bill to customer instead of the default customer. Any ideas?

Do not want to synchronize CRM Contacts to Outlook Contacts

Postby Lynn » Thu, 16 Sep 2004 00:38:14 GMT

We do not want to synchronize CRM Contacts to Outlook when we go offline in
the SFO client. We DO want to synchronize CRM Appointments so the Fast Sync
is not an option. All the contacts were entered by the same user who has
shared the contacts with everyone in the business unit. Is there any way to
prevent synchronization of contacts to Outlook?

you can only control what gets synched by using crm security roles.
Basically if your users can see contacts in the crm web interface they will
get synced to outlook.

Individual users are able to turn Contact syncing to Outlook off though.

Under Tools|Options in the Outlook client (the CRM menu, not the Outlook
menu), there is the option to turn it off (and tasks and appointments -
there's a checkbox per type). There is no security around this setting
though, so you can't prevent your users from making the decision either way.

1.Duplicate contacts in outlook when synchronizing with CRM contacts

I noticed when I go offline and back online on CRM, it creates duplicate
contacts into my outlook. Is there a way to stop duplicates or replace with
most up to date data? I noticed there is a way to do this for importing and
exporting from or to other programs or files so I believe there is got to be
a way for merging a duplicates from CRM contacts to Outlook contacts.

2.Synchronizing Outlook contacts to CRM contacts

How to configure my Outlook to synchronize my Outlook contacts to MS CRM
contacts?

3.CRM contacts not synchronizing fully with Outlook 2003

I have a client who has an issue with the CRM contacts not synchronizing with
Outlook properly.

They are using CRM Dynamics v3.0

The issues are as follows;
1. Some contacts appear to be "broken" and don't sync at all. I can see the
contact in CRM itself Ok and it has all the data in it, but Outlook has the
contact listed with all the information blank.

2. The contacts that appear to be syncing, don't synchronize all the
different address types. The Business address details, email address and
phone numbers sync OK, but the "Home" address and the "Other" address don't
sync to the contact in Outlook.

Does anybody know how to correct this? The client is so frustrated with CRM
at the moment as they have had a lot of issues with this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

4.Not seeing all contacts when doing a MM using Outlook contacts

I have a client that is creating a mail merge (labels)
using Word and Outlook 2002. She not only has her
mailbox, but has two other individual's mailboxes added
to outlook under the email accounts, view or change
existing email accounts, more settings, advanced tab
under open these additional mailboxes.

She goes through the mail merge wizard and chooses
outlook contacts and selects browse. She only sees one
contacts folder and it's not hers. There is no option to
select another folder. How can I get her and the other
person's contacts folder in her selection?

She actually has two desks. When she is on her desk at
the 15th floor she can see one individual's contacts when
in the mail merge wizard, but not the other. When she's
on the 14th floor, it's reversed and she NEVER sees hers.

Permissions have been checked. I searched the knowledge
base and only found one article that said to check the
contact folder's properties and under the outlook address
book tab make sure 'show this folder as an email address
book' was checked. She tried to use the mail merge
feature directly from outlook, but it said it the
database wasn't available. However she can go to those
same contacts folder and send an email from them so they
are available.

Any ideas?
TIA,
Carla

5.Export CRM-contacts to Outlook Global Contact (CRM 1.2)

Hi,

I want to export all the contacts in CRM to the Outlook Global Contact, so
all the non-CRM-users can find contacts with there phonenumber etc. There is
no support for this at all in CRM 1.2

I can do this manually. First export all the contact to Excel and from there
back in Global Contact. Now the problem is the 'Save as'-field. You can only
set this field by opening the contact, set the field and save it. For one
contact is this no problem, for 5000 contacts it is.

When I import the contacts I can't set the value of this field. It has a
default value, but I need another one. Does anyone have the same problem and
have a solution??

With regards, Mattijs
