I am writing two deviceobjects, one in in PNP stack and it will be active after MN_START_DEVICE. How about the other deviceobject which is not in PNP but in the same driver? Does CreateFiile require deviceobject started in order to get handler or not? Thanks in advance,

Hello, I am having a problem getting an USB RNDIS ethernet device that I have developed to work properly in Windows XP SP2. I am expecting the Windows provided class drivers usb8023/rndismp to be loaded. My device presents descriptor information as per the Microsoft RNDIS specification, but is not recognized and the complaint is "The device is not configured correctly". I have installed hot fix #890927 to no avail. Any insights would be most appreciated.
  • 3. Device Manager - Disable->Enable = (Code 39)
I have a SCSI MiniPort that was working fine on WinXP SP2 although when I updated SP2 with the latest critical patches I started seeing this problem. In the device manager I can see my SCSI Controller and one disk which is hanging off it. If I disable the SCSI controller in device manager the disk goes away as expected. Although if I re-enable the SCSI adapter the disk returns but with a bang and Code 39. (Rebooting the system once in this state resolves the problem. Also rebooting in between the disable and enable works around the issue. Tracing the driver its running fine. No errors.) I ran across a couple kb article which looks like an exact match although it only seems to apply to CD/DVDs. And there workarounds don't match up for a disk device. Has anyone encountered this and do you know of solutions / workarounds?

The display driver can't do it. It can only access the routines offered by
win32k.sys. You have to call into the miniport driver and let the miniport
do it for you.

Hello,

Try to use EngMapFile. This creates a memory mapped file and you can write
to this memory mapped file.

Hello,

Whenever I change out a display driver or a video card -it often resets back
to 640x480 and then when you put it back to the previous resolution - e.g.
1280x1024 or higher, the icons/shortcuts on the desktop are all reordered.
Is there a way to save them to a particular order set so when you change
back to your previous display resolution before the patch/upgrade, they are
in the same order (FYI they are not organized by name or type - they have
been ordered according to where I manually put them).

Thanks

4.Video data from driver and displaying in application using MFC in

Check SetDIBitsToDevice() , with the right parameters, you can use it to
display any block of memory as a picture. Ofcourse you need to get the HDC
from your window first.

If you need to resize, check StretchDIBits(), this is much slower.
Instead of resizing, instruct your driver to deliver a smaller image.

Kind Regards,
Rob.
