  • 1. Applying Halftones to Images in a Unidrv based printer driver on Windows NT
Hi I am developing the rendering plug-in of a PCL printer driver for a monochrome printer, My driver is based on the MS Unidrv. Basically i want to apply halftone to images in the driver, but in NT, the IPrintOemUni::HalftonePattern( ) does not get called, so i am trying to do the halftoning in the IPrintOemUni::ImageProcessing( ) hook Since my device supports only monochrome my *DevBPP is 1, and since my Halftone pattern is in terms of bytes, my *DrvBPP is 8 and *Color is FALSE My problem is, i am not able to downsample(convert) the greyscale 8bpp DIB recieved in the IPrintOemUni::ImageProcessing( ) call to 1bpp (monochrome) DIB which has to be returned to Unidrv after applying the Halftone pattern to the 8bpp DI Please let me know if the following is possibl 1. What should i do to get the IPrintOemUni::HalftonePattern( ) callback in Windows NT 2. If that is not possible, is IPrintOemUni::ImageProcessing( ) the correct function to do halftoning in NT 3. How do i downsample the 8bpp DIB to 1bpp DIB to be returned back to the Unidrv Thanks in Advance
  • 2. IRP_MN_FILTER_RESOURCE_REQUIREMENTS
Hi, I've been developing a driver, but I have some problems, in the debugging I see that when I'm installing my device after receiving IRP_MN_FILTER_RESOURCE_REQUIREMENTS (which I pass down the stack) the stop device routine is called followed by the cancel stop routine and so the installation ends and my device is never functional. Do you have any ideas why is this happening? Should I handle IRP_MN_FILTER_RESOURCE_REQUIREMENTS? -- How? Thanks a Lot Rodrigo
  • 3. How to test Monitor Drivers?
I am new to testing Device Drivers. I am supposed to test Monitor Drivers. Are there any tool that can be used other than the HCT? Are the tests provided in the HCT sufficient to test the drivers meaning if all the tests pass is the driver OK? Thanks, PK

Can somebody give an outline on how to support TrueType fonts downloading using Unidrv on Windows 2000? Thanks in advance.
  • 5. CreateFile failure
Hi all, i have been trying to get handle of my protocol driver from usermode but not able to get. attaching the code. van you tell me where can be the error. Device name is "Proto". CHAR ProtoDevice[] = "\\\\.\\\\Proto"; CHAR * pProtoDevice = &ProtoDevice[0]; HANDLE GetHandle( CHAR *pDeviceName ) { DWORD DesiredAccess; DWORD ShareMode; LPSECURITY_ATTRIBUTES lpSecurityAttributes = NULL; DWORD CreationDistribution; DWORD FlagsAndAttributes; HANDLE TemplateFile; HANDLE Handle; DWORD BytesReturned; DesiredAccess = GENERIC_READ|GENERIC_WRITE; ShareMode = 0; CreationDistribution = OPEN_EXISTING; FlagsAndAttributes = FILE_ATTRIBUTE_NORMAL; TemplateFile = (HANDLE)INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE; Handle = CreateFile( pDeviceName, DesiredAccess, ShareMode, lpSecurityAttributes, CreationDistribution, FlagsAndAttributes, TemplateFile ); if( Handle == INVALID_HANDLE_VALUE ) { Handle = CreateFile( "\\\\.\\Global\\Proto", DesiredAccess, ShareMode, lpSecurityAttributes, CreationDistribution, FlagsAndAttributes, TemplateFile ); } return (Handle); } any idea how to make it work. regards, Puneet

SDIO Bus Driver Log

Postby Julian Zhang » Sat, 23 Jan 2010 15:01:02 GMT

Hi all,

We are developing an SDIO device now. We want to design the device to be
an I/O only device rather than an SD memory device.

When we plugged the device into a PC running Windows XP SP2, it showed
up as a disk drive. We could not check its disk propery.

We guess we fail to present correct response of some SDIO commands and
we want to find them out.

Anybody knows whether the SDIO enumeration is logged by Windows SDIO
bus driver (sdbus.sys) or any other component ?

Thanks in advance.

1.SDIO devices using SDIO bus Driver on Windows Mobile 6.1

Hi

I am wondering, if there is a tool or way to find about the devices
using SDIO Bus driver (SDBus.Dll) & SDIO Host-controller (sdhc.dll). I
guess, SDBus.Dll (SDIO Bus Driver) is part of Windows Mobile 6 and
Host-Controller is supplied either by Windows-Mobile/ OEM. Is this
correct?

I have a requirement to figure out whether a device is using SDIO Bus
or not? Pls suggest a way to find out this....

Thanks
Pradeep
