I use VCOMM_EnableCommNotification to set up notification procedure (CommNotifyProc). But this procedure (CommNotifyProc) is been called only once. May be the prototype of this procedure is wrong ?
  • 4. Closing application without sending IRP_MJ_CLOSE
Hi, I have a device driver controlling a pcmcia device. In my user mode application, I did the following: handle = CreateFile(....); for(int i = 0; i<10; i++) { //.... getchar(); //.... } CloseHandle(...); What I did was exit the application in the for loop when the application is expecting some input from the keyboard with the getchar() call. I actually expected IRP_MJ_CLOSE to be sent but apparently it wasn't. My question is why wasn't IRP_MJ_CLOSE sent when the application is exited unexpectedly? In that case, is that anyway in which my driver can detect such a situation? Thank you.

Hello all,
I want to port Linux IPSecurity driver to windows XP. I am using
passthru model.
Is there any crypto libraries available in windows XP kernel
space,for DES 3DES AES.
or the only way is porting open source crypto libraries to windows?

With Best Regards,
Subhash S

It already has IPSec implementation.

I would say this is the best.

From nowhere, it is closed and undocumented.

4.Transfer VxD from Windows 98 to Windows XP or Windows 2000

I am new for the VxD, but I need this help for urgent.
Below is my problem.

I have a dynamic VxD(written in C) that is working good
with my software in Windows 98, but when I try to use it
at Windows 2000 or Windows XP, my software can't open the
VxD. Can someone tell me why? or what I should do to
call/link this VxD to my software?

Thanks in advance.

Joseph.

5.im filter and ipsec

I have an IM network driver that works dandy for most scenarios. When a
Cisco IPSec VPN is installed, we have some issues - basically the PSched/DNE
drivers pick off the traffic before we see them. On XP, I was able to
install using the FilterClass of "Scheduler" in the inf file, and that
installs us above the ipsec drivers. That has been working reasonably so
far. But on 2K this doesn't work - no matter what I do, the DNE driver
always gets installed above us and pick off (and encrypts) the traffic
before we can look at it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,,

Warren
