    Hi, Have this problem: Windows 2003 Server - AD with Exchange 2003 (more specific SBS 2003). Is the only AD in the domain. After a disaster, I couldn't recover the Exchange database (it exists on disk) Directories: MDBDATA contains priv1.edb and .stm also pub1.edb and .stm and logs Exxxx.log Now I installed a new Win2k3 server and a new Exchange. Is any option to recover some (not all) emails from the old database? More specific, only one email box??? Regards, Bogdan

    Hi, I receive this warning on a non regular base. Maintenance windows are: 1) everyday 6AM - 11 AM for First Storage Group, Mailbox DB 2) everyday 11AM - 1PM for Second Storage Group, Public Folder DB Backup software (ArcServe 11.2), which performs a full backup (Monday - Friday) both at document level and at database level, is scheduled to run during the night. By 4AM it has already finished its work. The message I get at the end of Mailbox DB maintenance window is: "There is an online maintenance overlap for database 鈥淔irst Storage Group\Mailbox Database. Please revise the online maintenance schedule." The last times I got this message were 10/24, 23, 21, 20, 19, 18, 16, 14 13 etc. (i.e. no regularity at all) So, what happens?

    It's solved. It was a WINS replication that didn't function. I have Windows 2000 domain, w/ AD and a Exchange 2000 system.  

I had a public mailbox two years ago, but it was no longer in use, so I 
disabled the mailbox.  But now I need to reuse that e-maill address.  I can 
find the public mailbox if I do a search in AD. When I try to access the box, 
all it says is: 'Use Exchange System Manager to access full features of this 
box.'

The problem is, either Active Directory, or Exchange will not let me get 
back into this box.  I've tried to rename it, in hopes it would change the 
properties, but I still can't get into the box properties to release the 
e-maill address from this particular box. 

Looked in the MS KB, but can't really find this problem.

Use AD Users and Computers and get properties of the old mailbox. Click 
Exchange Tasks then click"Remove Exchange Attributes". The mailbox will be 
marked for deletion after the defined retention period. Go into the ESM and 
drill down to the mailbox store that held the old mailbox; right click on 
"mailboxes" and click "Run Cleanup Agent". The mailbox should have a red 
circle with a white X in it. You can either leave it this way and let it 
get deleted normally through mailbox manager or you can purge it 
imediately. One thing I've noticed about this proceedure is you need to 
wait a few minutes after removing the mail attributes or marking it for 
deletion before the ESM will show it as marked for deletion.

send as the email address is not available when they click From and look in 
the Global Address Book.

Where have I gone wrong?

5.Public Folder email address does not appear in Global Address 

It sounds as if the Public Folder has been configured so it doesn't show up 
in the GAL. Look at the advanced properties on the folder and see if 'Hide 
from Exchagne address lists' is selected.
