The have an ssl cert for the webmail. the only ports that are open for public are 80 and 443. Whenevr I try to synch I put my username and pw it then times out and gives me an error 0x85010014. The exchange server does show the connect attempt in its log , just says unknown user.. What are we missing with this. Open another port, anotbher SSL?? any suggestions appreciated. Thanks Creole
  • 2. Edge connector question
I've got a couple of email addresses that i've hidden from the GAL. The AD accounts are disabled, the directory has been sync'd, and i've forced an edge subscription update. On my Edge server under Anti Spam --> Recipient Filtering Properties, i checked the "Block messages sent to recipients not listed in the Global Address List". Messages are still going to the mailboxes though. What am i doing wrong? Thanks. (Ex2k7 SP1 on all servers.)

Dears, Have a server-side way to set automatic read receipt for some user ou all users ? I know this isn't a recommended pratice, but we need to do this in some users, when they open a message, automatic send the read receipt and the delivery receipt. Have a cmdlet or another configuration in the server whose i can change this settings? The users use owa and ms outlook 2007. Tks in advance. Matheus Cavalieri XXXX@XXXXX.COM

Hello, I thought I stumbled upon a script sometime ago that assisted me in determining who had Exchange (View only, Admin, Full Admin) permissions. Is there an easy way (other than opening the GUI) to do this? A tool? Thanks, Paul

x400 addresses seem to be optional now ??

Can someone please direct us to information regarding the need for x400
addresses. It's possible now to remove them from both the mailboxes and the
recipient policies. What are the ramifications? Our environment is a mix of
Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2003.

Thanks

If they aren't causing you a lot of trouble, it may help to leave them in
there for now. :)

Exchange Server 2003 does require a Recipient Policy to have an X400
address. You can't delete this from ESM, and it's *NOT* recommended to
delete this using ADSIEdit.

It may help? Thanks for your conjecture.

We've upgraded all our recipient policies to Exchange 2007, including the
default policy. Exchange 2007 does not apply x400 addresses to new objects,
and offers the ability, in the management console, to remove the x400 address
from the default policy.

If anyone can specify the ramifications of keeping or removing the x400
address, your information will be welcome.

1."hide from exchange address lists" doesn't seem to work (or am I doing something wrong)

Looking at my Outlook client I noticed that the Administrator account
was appearing and since we don't use it, I wanted to get it out of the
address list. I went into Server Management and selected "Hide from
Exchange address lists" under exchange advanced for the administrator
account.

Administrator still appears in the address list.

Anyone know why it isn't working, or am I doing something wrong?

2.x400 address was deleted from all recipients address's

Yes I know, You can't do that they say, and they are
right. But do you think that stopped this moron? Nope! How
do you add x.400 to a recipeint correctly? What should I
look for to make sure it is configured properly? right
now, our facility can not send / reeceive external smtp
mail, nor can we send mail to internal address's.

You may mock the stupidity, it is warranted. your
assistance is greatly appreciatted. Thanks in advance.

3.Address book displays x400 email address instead of smtp

Anyone know how to fix the problem of the address book displaying th x400 email address instead of the smtp format. This only happens on one client? Must be local to their machine but i can't find any documentation a MS.

Thanks

4.From field appears as x400 address, not email address

Hi Guys,

I have a user on our exchange 2003 SP2 server whose email address in the
from field when she has sent internal and external emails is displaying what
appears to be the x400 address (eg
/o=Exchange/ou=<domain>/cn=Recipients/cn=<username>) instead of the email
address.

This is not happening for all her emails, but it appeared to occur for a few
days, then stopped occuring. I did not make any changes to her account
during this time.

Does anyone know what might cause this?

5.Ol2000 sr-1 Exchange 5.5 address lookup issue with old GAL entry show X400 address

I am having a issue where an old GAL entry is being brought up in
OL2000 sr1 from EX55. It comes up using the first name, but if
I use the last name too, it fails the GAL lookup. This mailbox in
Exchange has been Hidden, but still comes up with Dashes under
it. All my other hidden recipients that were in the GAL do not
behave this way. There are no personal DL's, Contacts etc.. with
this name in it either.. Any clues would be appreciated.. Oh, and
if I do properties of it, it is an EX type address showing the X400
address of the mailbox ?

Thanks in Advance,
Bob
