  • 1. Exchange 5.5 migration problem - requesting messages from old server
We have migrated all mailboxes to exchange 2003. I have made sure public folders, OAB, ect... is being handled or replicated to the new server. When I power off the exchange 5.5 server. Some of our users are not able to open certain messages (especially read receipts), outlook starts requesting data from the old server. Thanks for your help.
  • 2. Amount of email passing through Exchange 2003
I would like to know the number of emails, as well as total megabytes, that get sent out of and into our single server Exchange 2003 site. How is that possible to find out? Thanks! Blake
  • 3. Requesting data from front-end exchange server
I have 1 front-end server in the DMZ for OWA and 1 back-end server with all mailboxes. When some internal OL2k2 users are creating or updating a meeting and Outlook is checking the free/busy information, they get the "Requesting data..." message. This message references the Netbios name of the front-end server which will fail due to firewall settings. I don't want the Outlook client to use this front-end server, how do I direct it to use only the back-end server?
  • 4. Exchange - Spam and Bad Mail
I am running Exchange 2000 Sp3 plus roll ups on my Windows 2000 server. Recently my bad mail has increased exponentially every month. This is mail that is coming in and not going to any particular user of my network...SPAM. I work in an advertising company. We have tried using Spam filters, however, due to the nature of our business, some clients were not able to send us emails. I have about 200-300 system messages a day. I have created 2 SMTP connectors which allow me to see good mail and bad mail in my SMTP Queue. I have set the SMTP connector for Bad Mail to run at 2:00 a.m., therefore during the workday my exchange server is not sending System messages during the work day. The main issue is, all of this SPAM is killing my bandwidth and my email server. I only have 35 employees in my company and the server is relatively beefy for that, however we are starting to get connection problems. Our internet service is a Frac T-768/768. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Postby Phil » Sun, 26 Feb 2006 03:00:30 GMT

I am in need of a white paper for SP2 for Exchange. I have found a
couple good webcasts and a really good "article" on everything that is
fixed or modified in SP2 but the management wants a white paper. Anyone
able to find this?
Thanks in advance.

2.Disaster Recovery White Paper for 2003

Just wondered if anybody could point me in the direction of a good disaster
recovery guide for exchange 2003.

We are currently running a 2003 exchange server on 2003 member server in a
2000 domain and I am worried about the hardware. Need to make sure that I
have made all necessary plans for disaster recovery before I start playing
with the hardware. We are also using CA's Arcserve to backup Exchange.

At the moment i am thinking document exchange build first. Build up a 2003
server, restore the system state. Install exchange (Do I need to install in
disaster recovery mode?) and service pack to the same level then use
Arcserve to restore databases.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers
