The problem I have is a database has been created that automatically emails to users when a compliance date within the database has been passed. I want to divert the emails for our managers from this database to a public folder. I don't want to set a rule on each users Outlook and I can't change the email address within the database that is sending the emails. Can I divert these emails from the database to the public folder from within Exchange 2000? This would mean the managers will not see these emails at all in their inbox.

Hi All, Forgive me if this is a simple question, however shared Calendar folders in Public Folders seem to have a problem with DST changeover. The issue is that all appointments that have been made by a client computer *prior* to the switch to DST later skew forward by an hour when your client computer then moves into DST time. I can't for the life of me figure out the mechanism of this problem as it doesn't occur in private calendars or on email timestamps, and frankly I would have thought all such things would be tracked against UTC time + offset. Server is Win2003, Exchange2003, timezone is GMT + auto adjust for Daylight Savings Time and sync'd with an NTP service. Can anyone shed any light for me? Cheers and thanks in advance

Exchange 20003/NTBackup:Only restores most recent backup?

Postby TWFyaWEgTQ » Fri, 25 Jun 2004 06:34:01 GMT

I'm using NTbackup on Exchange 2003, running on a W2k Server. Using backup, choosing exchange server>information store, I am able to do a backup and restore. But this only seems to work for the most recent backup.

When I try to restore an older backup (and by older, I mean minutes or hours older, I'm just testing at this point) the restore process itself doesn't report any errors, but the databases won't mount.

I'd like to be able to keep backup copies going back to several points in time. Is this possible? Should I be backing up and replacing more than just the information store?

They would not mount for what reason?

1.Exchange 2k3 backup and restore using ntbackup

Hi,
I want to test the backup / restore procedure of my Exchange 2003.

To do this I created a test domain (win 2003 server) and I installed
exchange 2k3 on the server.

Using a client I can join the test domain, use outlook and send mail from
user to user of the test domain.
I created some public folders and sent some mails, then I performed a
ntbackup of the information store.
After the backup (that completed succesfully) I deleted some mail and the
public folders.

After the deletion, I run ntbackup restore of the information store. The
restore completes succesfully, but I cannot see the deleted mails and public
folders.

What's wrong?
Thanks
