I'm getting this error: The MAPI call 'OpenMsgStore' failed with the following error: The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has failed. The MAPI provider failed. Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store ID no: 8004011d-0512-00000000 and no clients are able to connect, and they get an http error with webmail. All Exchange services are running, and the only solution appears to be to reboot the server. Any solutions out there? (MS is not much help) Thanks.
  • 2. Exchange 2003 Public Folder Replication
We have two Exchange 2003 installed on different server 2003 r2. One is with sp2 and an other with no services pack. We have this error message in the event : Error updating public folder with free-busy information on virtual machine 'server'. The error number is 0x8004010 We try to stop synchronisation in puvblic folder but still here. One Exchange Server is not use. One server is with https ( the one we use) and the other one is on http ( no use) We will not desinstall exchange server not use because there is sharepoint and projet server on the default web site on it and we think that we will have to reinstall theses products if we desinstall exchange server not use An ideas ? • 3. Modifying OWA logon page - Exchange 2007
I'd like to modify the OWA logon page to include our company logo, etc, for a more company-centric logon. The Google articles I've seen indicate that there would be some web pages I'd have to edit, but is there a particularly good article anyone would recommend? I've deathly afraid of screwing up the current OWA logon page since it works so well right now.

what errors are you getting? how far do the messages get? are you
forwarding all outbound Internet email out via a smart host or DNS?

Are you receiving any errors or bounces when you try to send mail?

here is one of th errors I get

There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email server.
Please contact your system administrator.
  < #5.5.0 smtp;550 blocked by
ldap:ou=rblmx,dc=comcast,dc=net -> subscribers are not permitted
to directly connect to this mail server. If you are a Comcast Commercial
Services customer and need support, please contact

ou will need to contact Comcast. It would appear they have outbound
filtering on port 25 (as many providers are beginning to do). Do you have a
static IP address with them, or is it dynamic?

What many providers are starting to do is by default blocking outbound port
25 traffic to any hosts other than their own SMTP server. The reason for
doing this is simple--it cuts down on the amount of spam originating from
their network.

A large percentage (probably a majority) of spam these days is sent by
compromised computers ("spam zombies"), and those machines connect directly
to the receiving server for the domain they're trying to send email to. For
example an infected computer trying to email someone would connect
directly to AOL's receiving MTA.

Since most of Comcast's customers would be connecting to to
send mail, they are beginning to block any traffic that is *not* going to
that server. This would prevent an infected Comcast customer from
unknowingly transmitting spam (or viruses or whatever) via SMTP directly to
any other servers.

What I don't know is if you can request this filter to be turned off if
you're in a dynamic IP configuration (particularly if you have a residential
account). With SBC customers use PPPoE authentication, and the port 25
filtering is applied on a per-account basis. In the case of most cable
providers they have static IP customers and dynamic IP customers, and in my
experience they have been unable to disable SMTP filtering on a per-user
basis--they could only enable it or disable it for the entire dynamic IP
pool (this is how it is with Charter Communications, I've never had to do it
with Comcast).

As a test you could do this: Set up Outlook Express to send mail using
another SMTP server. Any SMTP server that is outside of Comcast's network
will do. Do this and try sending an email to an email address on your
Exchange server. If you get a "unable to relay" error then odds are you
successfully made a connection to the remote server (and they logically told
you to get lost). My guess is you'll get a similar error/bounce to the
message you described. If so then Comcast is capturing all outbound traffic
on port 25, redirecting it to their own equipment and sending a bounce
saying "You can't do this." If that's the case, you will have to contact
Comcast and see if/how to resolve it.

3.Please help cant access moved mailbox!

We had one Exchange 2003 server and just added another. Just as a test, I
moved one of the mailboxes to the new server. After doing so, when trying to
access the mailbox with Outlook, the client asks me to authenticate. I made
sure the person has full access to the mailbox, but cannot get passed the
login. When authenticating, I've tried just username and password, and
domain\username and password.

Thanks for help in advance!

5.Unable to send and receive mail Please Help...

Hi Tom,

I would suggest turning up logging on the Transport and then look in the App
log to see what is being logged. If you suspect a Global catalog issue you
will also want to turn up DSAccess on the server. This should give you a
better idea of what the issue really is and how to resolve it.

Hope this helps,

internal and external messages are there . All the services are started and
all the clients can connect. I have looked on the web and the problem is
pointing towards a lack of communication to the global catalogue server.
