Outlook 20007 bandwidth requirements

Exchange 2000

  • 1. Blocking an exact filename from the attachments of the messages
I want to block any email containing Norton AntiVirus Deleted1.txt attachment at the connection. Is it possible? How?
Have tried to receive e-mail 6-10 times - something seems to be hung up. I see that 14 e-mails are trying to be received. Error message = Ox800CCC0F. How can I get beyond what's hanging up receiving my e-mails. I sent an e-mail with photos from the office - this may be a large file which is causing the hang-up.
  • 3. Using RBL's with Exchange 2003
I've been looking for a good inexpensive way to cut down on SPAM. I have configured a Connection Filter on my Exchange 2003 server to use mail-abuse.org's RBL server, blackholes.mail-abuse.org. I then activated the filter on my SMTP virtual server. Has anybody done this same thing and did it work for you? Or has anybody found another good way to cut down on SPAM using RBL's Thank you Kevin Bozung

Outlook 20007 bandwidth requirements

Do we have any documents, which states the bandwidth usage/requirements for:

1) Outlook 2007 client with Exchange 2007
2) OWA 2007 with Exchange 2007

Trying to see if a 1400 mailboxes will work over a 10mb link, with outlook
clients (outlook 2007)

Need to do a proof of concept. Just like how Microsoft has consolidated
most of its exchange server. Most exchange servers in MS are in US, while
its users are all over the world.

Any input would be appeciated.

4.Outlook MAPI bandwidth requirements

I have been searching the internet for some form of documentation that lists
the bandwidth requirements for a MAPI client connection to work to an
Exchange server. Reason being is that i have a client who has a 128 Kbps
connection to the head office, and are having Outlook/Exchange timeout
problems. My first thought is to move them onto cached mode in outlook
2003, however if there is a technical whitepaper detailing the average
bandwidth for clients, i would be very grateful.

Thanks in advance.

5.Name display, Contacts Outlook 20007

I see various and inconsistent Name displays in Outlook 2007 Contacts.

If I click on the Business Card view, the small blue area above the Business
Card displays the name as I choose ... for example, Smith, John & Mary.
However in the actual card itself, the white area, the name might appear as
John & Mary Smith or in other instances Smith, John & Mary.

Is there any way to make this Display consistent? If this is a known issue,
it's no big deal. I was just wondering what I could do to have the display
either be consistent or what I would want it to be.

Thanks, DH
