  • 1. Filemaker and Apache?
Hi: our current webserver is filemaker, and we want to create a seperate web server, I wonder whether filemaker can determine which web server with different port number. if it doesn't have this function. any recommendation of Filemaker+Apache+Php, we still need the information from filemaker. Thanks a lot. Tony
  • 2. Conditional sum?
FMP6, MacOSX.2 I've created a calc field using the aggregate Sum(score) to give me a "total points scored" for all related records in a self-join. I then created a checkbox that, if checked, I want the score from that particular record omitted from the Sum calc (but I want the score preserved so I can't have the checkbox zero out the score field). Is this possible? The only way I can think of seems clunky: create scoreForSum calc = Case(omit = "true","",score) I would then use Sum(scoreForSum) to obtain "total points scored". As I said, it seems clunky with the extra field, so I was wondering if there is a better way. TIA, Fred

Deleting hosts FileMaker server host IPs.

Postby oserj » Tue, 09 Dec 2003 01:35:02 GMT

Is it possible to delete FileMaker server host IP addresses in the
FileMaker client software that are no longer being used?
Which file has these settings?

There is a file called FMHosts.txt, which is a regular editable text
file, and can be found (in Windows) in "C:\Documents and
Settings\UserName\Application Data\FileMaker\FileMaker Pro\6.0"

1.using multiple Informix DB Servers w/same name, different Host IPs in ODBC

I need to solve a situation where we have many detached sites running
the same software built around and Informix database. The Database
Server Name at all these sites is the same. I need to access these
sites from my pc. I have no problem setting up an ODBC Data Source to
one of them and getting in but when I set up the Data Source to the
second, which has the same Server Name but a different Host Name (IP
address) Window will change the IP address in the previously set up
ODBC Data Source to that I put in the second ODBC Data Source. I've
found Windows seems to only associate one Host Name (IP address) with
one Server Name. I need to get around this. In fact I'd like to be
able to have connections to several of these sites' databases
simultaniously if possible. I give each of them a unique ODBC Data
Source Names.

Help! and Thanks.

2."local hosts" is empty; must use "Specify Hosts"

We had a slight network meltdown this morning, from which we have
recovered 99%. The only issue is that users are having trouble logging
onto FileMaker Server.

We're running FMS 5.0 on Windows Server 2003. Clients are running FMP
6.0 on both Macs and PCs. Prior to the "meltdown," users are not able
to access the server by going through Open > Hosts > Local Hosts. The
Local Hosts screen is blank. However, if we add the local IP address
under "Specify Hosts," everything shows up fine.

I realize this might be more of a networking issue than a FileMaker
issue, but I'm not sure how to fix it.

Our network is very simple. Everyone's on the same subnet. The router
assigns DHCP to clients. DNS is controlled by our Small Business
Server.

Other services running on the Windows Server/FileMaker Server are
accessible (file sharing and printing).

Can anyone point me in the right direction on this?

Thanks.
eric

3.Host not displayed in local host section...

Our filemaker server used to be listed in the hosts dialog in the local
hosts section.
Then I messed about with some network cables to get our macs working on
the network better.

Somehow everyone got disconnected - not sure how as I didn't go near
any of the PC workstations network cables.

Now I have to manually specify the IP address of our filemaker server
to get it to show in the hosts box.

Anyone know what I've done and how I can sort it out?

Thanks

Ben

4.[Info-Ingres] Stack dump on auditdb - good host vs bad host

Hi Everyone,

I have two hosts, both running: II 9.0.4 (a64.lnx/105)NPTL + patch 12343
both running: Fedora Core release 5 (Bordeaux)

If I create a brand new database(call it bowtest).
Checkpoint it turning journaling on.
Then execute: auditdb bowtest -b`date +%d-%b-%Y` (ie. Today it will
give: auditdb bowtest -b26-Sep-2007)

One host is perfectly OK with this command.

The other generates the frontend error:
Wed Sep 26 10:53:02 2007 E_DM904A_FATAL_EXCEPTION A fatal error
has occurred in the DMF Facility.

And in the errlog we see a STACK TRACE message:

-----------END STACK TRACE----------

I've checked the libscf.so.1 on both hosts with both a simple ls and sum
-r and they are identical.
The LD_LIBRARY_PATH is the same on both hosts.

On the bad host if I do auditdb '#c1' bowtest the output is OK!

The problem also occurs on all the existing databases in the bad host as
well. It also occurs on a secondary installation I put on the bad host.

Anyone got any ideas?
