• 1. Aspect Ratio
I have a widescreen monitor (1440x900), and when I browse the internet and find flash videos on certain websites, for some reason my browser stretches them to 16:9 instead of the 4:3 ratio that they are supposed to be. And it remains stretched when I make it Full Screen. But I don't want it to do that. It's nice having it fill up my screen, but I'd rather see the video in its intended ratio insteald of having a stretched picture where people are short and wide. Is there any way to fix this? Is it browser-related?

Just rebuilt PC from scratch - Win XP SP2. IE7. Avast AV. Will not download the flash player from Adobe site or any mirrors. Adobe site just hangs on the web page after clicking the download option. Pops up (inc toolbars) are off. Mirrors (ZDNET) start downloading but speed drops to less than 1Kb/s and eventually stop! Is this something with a recent Microsoft update? Been through the Forums. Tried the SubinACL option. I last rebuilt the PC about 6 months ago and there was no problem downloading then! Any help gratefully received!! Chris

  • 4. Where are Flash Player MSIs
I signed up for a free license to distribute Flash player. I'm looking for the msi so I can push it out but for some reason I can't find it. I can find the web page where you download and install. I can find the archives where you can download all the old and latest version but that's an exe - not an msi. I know I've done this before but I can't seem to find the msi's. Could someone please point me in the right direction. Thanks.

Their plans are to do that after the 32-bit unix/linux ports (although they
would most likely be working on 64-bit platforms already). First things
first.

2.Flash Player and Windows Vista Fix

Hi all,
I installed Windows Vista Ultimate last weekend, and like many I found that
the flash player did not work on many sites including YouTube etc.

Well, the good news is I think I have the fix that many of you have been
looking for:

I navigated my way to:

C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash

Then right clicked over both 'Flash9b.ocx' and 'FlashUtil9b.exe', and chose
properties.

In properties choose the 'security' tab > Click on the 'everyone' account, and
the button called 'edit' and then tick the box called 'allow full control' and
also choose your own Windows local account name.

Once you have done this for both files run the FlashUtil9b.exe and it should
install and update and tell you to restart. Do so and you should find that
YouTube and other sites that use flash now work.

Let me know how you get on.

3.Flash Player Streaming Windows Vista

My company recently started using Flash Media Server to stream audio and video
content.

My boss just installed Windows Vista Ultimate and now no streaming content
will play at all. Simple Flash animations work, but nothing that accesses the
Flash Media Server for content. I've uninstalled and reinstalled multiple
versions of the Flash Player on his machine but nothing seems to work. I also
tried the new "Reset" feature in IE that is supposed to return it to it's
shipping state and that didn't work. I navigated to the "System 32" folder and
ran the Flash Updater EXE. I downloaded and installed all of the available
updates through "Windows Update".

I also tested Flash Objects that stream video on Adobe.com and they don't
play either. Has anyone heard of this happening or know what I need to do to
fix it? I don't know if this is a bug in the Flash Player or with Windows Vista.
