I just successfully downloaded Flashplayer 9 so I could view videos on theStreet.com. When I click on one of the videos, it indicates it's opening the video, but then nothing happens. Can anyone give me any help with this? Can someone suggest another similar website to test Flashplayer 9? Thanks for any help someone can give me.

I came back one day to chat on a particular chat site, and wasn't able to play audio through my microphone so that others can hear. I've tried changing the settings but no luck. I didn't find problems on my PC unless I missed something:confused;. This just happened all of a sudden. Okay, whenever I adjust my 'record volume' on the 'Adobe Flash Player Settings', the volume meter would just act like a volume control whenever I changed it.
  • 4. Temporary Flash
A while ago, Flash Player suddenly and inexplicably stopped working. I consulted the support section, tested Flash Player (I got "you have version 9,0,16,0 installed" but no animation), tried a number of things and finally uninstalled and reinstalled the program. The problem seemed to have been solved, but only for a short time. A few days later, Flash stopped once again, so I went through the same process, same symptoms, and reinstalled the program. Once again, everything worked. For a time. And then, once again, the program stopped working, even though all evidence suggested that it was still installed. Basically, I seem to have a sort of temporary Flash, which needs to be reinstalled every few days/weeks (seemingly no pattern, except that it happens again, and again, and again, etc). Anway, it just stopped working (again) and I'm getting a tad sick of reinstalling Flash, so I'm wondering if there isn't some way of fixing it for good. Cheers, William

Install Button Not Present

Postby DCSwearingen » Mon, 19 Jun 2006 01:18:36 GMT

I am using Internet Explorer 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519.

I have turned off McAfee Security Center, I have set my Internet Security
Setting to Medium (IE will not let me set to Low).

I have set all Active-X and Scripting to Prompt rather than Deny.

I have added Adobe.com to my list of safe sites to allow cookies.

I have set my Po-up blocker to allow pop-up from secure sites, and have even
turned it off.

I still do not see the Install button on the following page.

 http://www.**--****.com/
thorware

How can I install this as I need it for an online course in Retirement
Planning.

Thank you for the response.
I used the direct URL and installed Shockwave_Installer_Slim.exe.

However, when I try to access the online course, I stll get the message saying
The Authorware 7 WebPlayer is not installed.

Is there a difference between the Shockwave and the Authorware 7 WebPlayer?

How do I get the WebPlayer to be recognized by Internet Explorer?

Shockwave and Authorware player are two different things. But that's about
-all- I know about Authorware player. You'd get better results posting to the
Authorware forum.

Thank you for your help.

I ended up going to my old notebook computer and logging on to the educational
site and again being redirected to load Authorware Webplayer.

 Voila!!

I now had the "Install Now" button, so I hovered the mouse pointer over the
button and wrote down the address shown on the status bar.

Manually entering the address bar into my desktop, I hit <Enter> and I was
downloading ShockwaveAuthorware Web Player!!

For anyone who needs the Webplayer, the direct link to this is:

1.Present But Not Present USB Flash Drive

I have a USB flash drive that I have been using for months on my XP
machine. Today when I tried to copy a file to it a dropdown box said that
I had to insert a disk in drive G. The drive is listed in My Computer.
Device Manager says that the drive is working properly. The drive works on
my other computer which is basically a clone. Any help?

TIA

2.USB flash drive not present in My Computer or Disk Manager

We've got a user who is having problems accessing the contents of his
USB flash drive. The funny thing is that, though Windows makes the
standard "new hardware found" sound and a dialog balloon from the
system tray states that new hardware has been detected, the drive does
not appear in My Computer or Disk Management in the MMC (no drive
letter, no disk without a drive letter). In Device Manager, however,
"Generic Volume" does appear.

Additionally, every time we attempt to remove the USB flash drive
through the standard "safely remove hardware" routine, we will tell it
to "stop" the device, but then the process will hang, and the device
will not be "stopped". After that happened, the user physically
removed the flash drive without waiting for the drive to be "stopped".
This caused some of his other USB devices to stop functioning,
including his USB data link between his PC tower and his smart phone.

We have uninstalled all USB drivers as well as the "generic volume"
and performed a reboot, and that didn't do anything. He did have a USB
hub plugged into one of the ports, but we removed both the physical
device as well as the hub "driver" from device manager. We are still
unable to see the drive in either My Computer or Disk Management in
any form. Any ideas as to what might be the problem?

Thanks,
Dan
