  • 1. Can't install latest update in Opera or Firefox
    I have neither Opera nor Firefox in the cookie cutter locations. Apparently, the installer (or whoever made it) is too retarded to realize people can choose where programs are installed (seems to be a recurring problem with Adobe). Anyone know how to trick it into installing?

    I allow my users to use the free Flash player but with the recent vulnerability I need a way to force all workstations to update to the latest version. Is there some way to push the latest version to all that have it installed? (My other recourse would be to ban Flash use at the proxy.)

  • 4. Flash Player & Camtasia Studio
    :confused; since installing the latest version of Macromedia Flash Player I have been unable to play Camtasia Studio videos that are streamed online. I read on the Techsmith site that the latest version of Flash Player is not compatible with Camtasia Studio and to me this is a real hassle as alot of the online marketers use Camtasia Studio when creating online video content. Can you tell me if there is going to be a release in the near future that will fix this problem? I have read there is a temp solution where I can download something and run my own videos through it but that doesn't help me if I'm watching another marketers online videos. Is there any way that people can download an earlier version of flash player in the mean time as a temporary measure to fix this prob? Thanks heaps Victoria

HI,
         I have downloaded flash player and i cant see any Flash content. I 
have been throught the tech notes and have looked iin the registry and there 
are no flags, i have no pop-up blocker enabled. so i just cant see why its not 
working. 

 Flash player, is displayed in the add/remove programmes list but when you go 
to C:/programme files/Internet explorer/plugins there in nothing there, does 
this matter??

 any ideas would be greatly appriciated.

 I have a .fla file open that I've made a specific change to a line of text 
that I have coverted to a symbol by
 Click on the text so it gets a blue box around it make sure I'm on the arrow 
tool. Then Right click on the text and click convert to symbol Finally I 
converted the text to a Movie Clip 
  
 In properties I choose alpha to the right of the menu a percentage bar will 
appear drag this down to 0% this will make your text invisible.  Insert a 
keyframe at about 30 frames in and right click on the clip again and go to 
properties, back down to alpha but this time change the alpha to 100% then exit 
the properties panel, highlight the layer and right click and press create 
motion tween this will add a coloured arrow into the timeline press Ctrl+enter 
to view the movie.
  
 Now when I viewed the movie all the elements worked EXCEPT the fade ins I 
created. It DOES playback when I run the timeline....  I hope I explained this 
OK....

 What am I missing here?

2.unable to insert flash content 

hi everyone!
 i can't insert a flash button or text in my page.
 when for example try to insert a flash button the following message is 
appeared:
 "button1.swf is an invalid name filename.please try a different." when try a 
different ..the same message.
 when pressing ok and flash accesibility attribute is appeared, i type a title, 
press ok and the following message is appeared:
 "while executing onClick in Flash Options.htm, the following javascript error 
is oddured:
 At line 55 of file "C:/Program Files/Macromedia/dreamweaver 
8/configuration/Commands/Flash Options.js":
 Dreamweaver can only set an attribute if the current selection is exactly one 
tag."

 I tried to solve the problem through the javacript troubleshooting page but i 
couldn't.
 What's going wrong? Could you please helpme?

Hi,
I am completely new to Flash so I must apologise as this feels like a real 
idiots question.

I have received a fla file from a customer and also the swf file. When I 
play the swf I can see all of the flash working (it is a header for a site 
with page links that change when you hover over them). When I open the fla 
file in Flash I can see a timeline with loads of layers and only some of the 
finished file, I don't know where any of the text is or the html links that 
go with this. I am not able to highlight any small section of the image or 
even see most of it. Nothing is hidden on the timeline but nothing seems to 
display when I play the scene. However, if I File > Publish Preview > Flash 
the correct complete flash document displays.

So, I can't find any setting to allow me to see the hidden layers(?) and 
edit any of the graphics (text) or page links?

Please help (Flash 10)
