  • 1. 1 page won't publish
All my other pages are now publishing but one isn't. When the publish window comes up,it says at the top: Do You want to remove this file? So I click no on all the files, but the "classes&contact" page doesn't show up there so it doesn't get published. What's up with that and how can I rectify it? Thanks.

Search many previous posts... the bottom line is NO you can't really protect anything... once it is in the viewer's cache. • 3. 1 page doesn't publish
Hi, again, Thanks to Jack and Thomas. I did the things you told me and the pages did publish, but 1. The "Classes" page doesn't want to publish. Could it be because I accidentally made a new page identical to it? Should I delete both and make a new page in it's place?
  • 4. Login issue using FP98
Does anyone know of compatibility issues with FrontPage 98 opening a site with FrontPage 2002 extensions? Have a user that is using FrontPage 98 trying to login to a site that is running FrontPage 2002 extensions. It prompts the user for U&P, and after entered it states something to the effect of unable to connect. Any ideas are appreciative.

I removed the site as it would not work, it would like me
post the information but when Iattempted to reply to a
posted message that I sent as a test it keep trying to go
to a different site that started with ww1 or ww2 then my
site the first post would work but the reply would not. I
could not even find the file it appeared to be using. I
edited the files I could find but without any luck. I can
put it back on as a test and try it again. I would like it
to work but after several hour of @#$%&^* with it I gave
up.
Thanks for the reply

discussion groups

Postby dadzilla » Sun, 09 May 2004 19:28:25 GMT

Okay... I'm missing a clue because I'm a newbie... I admit it...

I've got my site up and want to add mutiple discussion groups. Adding
one (1)group seems straght foward enough but how do I add several more
in a existing site?

Providing some kind soul gives me a answer my tiny newbie brain can
grasp, I would like to make some of the groups open to all site
visitors, but some groups open to only those on a set list I could
modify to add or subtract access. Any clues?

The DW should always be added as subwebs (if your host supports subwebs)
- add multiple ones w/ multiple subwebs
To control permission on a subweb see
  http://www.**--****.com/ ;en-us;825451
Your host will have to support subwebs and unique permissions under the FP Server Extensions

Using FrontPage to set up discussion group for team internally. Want to be
able to allow team members to add attachments as well as their posting to the
post so everyone on the team can view and open. Can this be done? How?

Thanks for the reply. Is there another way to do this that you are familiar
with?

Requires a 3rd party database driven application based on whatever server-side scripting and
database is supported by your web host.

Discussion Groups

My table of contents page no longer shows any of the posts that were made.
They are still there but I carelessly made a post (to test) on my development
site and then when I republished, it removed all of the previously list on
the table of contents. As I said, the posts are all still there (I can see
them when I open the site in FrontPage), it just no longer "synchs" with the
table of contents. I really need an answer!

It's recommended that Discussion Webs should be in a subweb, so when you
publish your site, you don't overwrite the Discussion on your live site.

Thanks for that information. That will help me the next time. Any answers
about how to get the table of contents to recognize the entries that are
there but no longer showing up?

4.discussion group help

hey can some one help me. I have a great site and I used a wizard and made/attached a discussion board and it ran great for about a year and over the last few months the messages have started piggybacking on other old messages that I didn't even have on the index anymore. So, I started going in deeper and deleting old articles but now it is doing it again (piggybacking) randomly and the subject lines are popping up with comments in the wrong threads. weird stuff. I don't know if I touched a setting or what? I did notice when I am deleting the articles their numbers are quite low beginning with tons of zeros so I can't see why I have to double up????
Any thoughts?
