Hi, I have used PE3 for picture files for some time and it is very good. I am trying to use it for videos, but find it will not import .rm or .ram files. I can't find a mention of this problem in the help pages. Am I doing something daft ? Thanks for all advice KK

Not sure if this will make sense, but I wnant to do a combination of a table or div and have maybe a little graphic to simulate a slanted corner or the like. Since html will only give me straight lines, I thought I would "simulate" nice boxes. In these boxes I'll just have my img tag. Thank you for any guidance or links.
  • 3. Color export to web
Hi, I've been trying to deal with this issue for a long time as a web developer. Often, my designers will give me a photoshop file, but after I export the images and take color reading with the eyedropper, the site comes out looking very dull. I've read many things regarding using the soft proof. Unfotunately, this means my designer will have to go back and change all of the colors using the soft proof. Should they really be designing in soft proof mode? This seems a bit odd. Another recommended solution is making sure everyone is using the same color profile. I have made sure that everyone is using the sRGBIEC.... profile, but still things come out dull. In this latest round of color frustration, I am serving both as the designer and developer. I created a file, using the sRGB profile, and then used the eyedropper to figure out what color my header was, put it in my css and it is the same dull color. Is there any way for photoshop to give me the hex value that will most accurately reflect the same color in other programs like Firefox? I should also mention, all computers have been macs, but I though macs are the design computer. Help me figure out once and for all what's going on with my colors. Thanks, Trey

Hi, I am new to this group, but wondered if anyone could answer a question for me. I know it isn't a Photoshop question but still thought perhaps somebody might know the answer. I have come across a digital image that the thumbnail is correct but when you open the image it is a corrupt image of something else. Has anyone else had this happen? Sue.

PS CS: Color replacement tool and red eye.. grey instead of black

Hello,
I have tried fro sometime to figure out why does the color replacement
tool replace the red in the eyes with greay not black. Does anyone know how
to resolve this? I followed the tutorials that came with PS CS in vain.

Thank you for your time and help.

CN

>I have tried fro sometime to figure out why does the color replacement

Because it replaces a color with another color of the same LIGHTNESS. A bright
red becomes a light gray; a dark red becomes a dark gray; a very dark red
becomes a very dark gray; and so on.

Usually the idea is to make a selection of the redeyed pupil (remember
to feather), then desaturate it moderately, and with the
lighten/darken adjustment bring the pupil to the desired black level
(not often pure black), then add the highlight over the visible
highlight that remains after darkening. Following this, I highlight
the whites of the eyes, desaturate somewhat and lighten them up
moderately. Another good idea is to select the inner corners of the
eye and redden them (hue adjust) for a more appealing look (believe it
or not).

It's easier to select the pupil and use Curves to darken it without touching
the hilight; that way, you don't need to add the hilight back.

Yes, you're right - in fact I used to do it that way, and it's
probably better. Trouble is with Photoshop there's always a dozen
ways to skin a cat.

1.Red eye problem in CS, pale grey instead of black

There has to be some simple solution I'm looking past - correcting red
eye in a jpg, nothing complex, no layers, no other work on the image,
follow the help file to the letter, select black in the color picker
and when I correct it comes out light-mid grey in the pupil area
rather than black. Almost like opacity was low, but I can't find any
slider to correct this.????

2.grey instead of black red eye correction

I've been using PS CS for a couple years and have tried various red eye
correction approaches with varying degrees of success. I keep thinking
things could be better... The approach in the Photoshop CS Help seems
reasonable but I end up with grey instead of black. I found reference to
this happening with animals but humans?? Thoughts?

3.Color replacement using PS CS

Hi all. I've edited a photo using Photoshop CS. After applying the
Cutout filter, It now only contains 4 colors (black, white & 2 shades
of grey). Is there a simple way of editing one of the colours so the
light grey now appears e.g. yellow?

Thanks for any help you can give.
