I've been inundated with this case when I was in Montreal by that bastion of journalistic integrity, Lou Dobbs on CNN. Fortunately, when I'm here in Toronto I don't get CNN so I get a break from Lou. This is the first that I heard of the particulars of the charges and I have to say that I agree with them. Let's see, you have two guards who fired on a suspect because they thought he was armed and then when it turned out that he wasn't gathered up all the evidence and didn't file the report. The fact that he was later confirmed to be smuggling {*filter*} is irrelevant. It's kind of like invading a country because you think they have weapons and then when it turns out that they didn't you switch positions and say that it was all justified because the leader was a bad guy. The problem isn't really that Bush failed to pardon these guys for their actions, but that he expects pardon for his. Note the following: The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Texas issued a statement in September arguing "the defendants were prosecuted because they had fired their weapons at a man who had attempted to surrender by holding his open hands in the air, at which time Agent Compean attempted to hit the man with the {*filter*}of Compean's shotgun, causing the man to run in fear of what the agents would do to him next." The statement said, "Although both agents saw that the man was not armed, the agents fired at least 15 rounds at him while he was running away from them, hitting him once." ======= Bruce * To join/leave the list, search archives, change list settings, * * etc., please visit http://www.**--****.com/ *
Bruce, the main disgrace is, that the DA gave a drug-dealer twice immunity. The second disgrace is on the border-patrol for firing 15rounds with only 1 hit. The third disgrace is, that that hit wan't even fatal. and now the drug-dealer is suing for $5mio. very clever. he'll probably get it too. Now, giving them 11 and 12 years is more than harsh. You can get less for {*filter*}. ==> Better weapon training and hitting the target might be usefull. There is so much to be fixed when these 8 disastrous years are over. Bruce I see I bright future for you in your next career in rewriting history. I understand there is quite a demand for those skills in the Deranged Dominion. Take care. > Bruce, from what I heard and read this weekend, the above statement was given by the captured drug-dealer. According to his statement, he attempted to surrender. This statement contradicts the statements by the border-patrol and therefore he was given immunity twice, that he could be a witness for the prosecution. * To join/leave the list, search archives, change list settings, * * etc., please visit http://www.**--****.com/ *

5.Q: "Managing MC/ServiceGuard NFS A.11.11.03 and A.11.23.02"
Hi! The current version of "Managing MC/ServiceGuard NFS A.11.11.03 and A.11.23.02" is dated 2004, and it mentions in the limitations (page 9) that all NFS locks are lost. AFAIK, that no longer true for at least two years. The version of the toolkit we have is "A.11.31.02". I wonder why there isn't an updated manual. I wouldn't complain, but that NFS toolkit bundle sells for about 900$ and what you get installed is 80kB shell scripts and a very short README... Regards, Ulrich
