I agree. That is a better sound card than the live!, and cheap. On Thu, 14 Aug 2003 15:21:51 -0400, "magnulus" < XXXX@XXXXX.COM > wrote: > Buy a Hercules Fortissimo III 7.1 instead. • 2. Any thoughts on the GeForce FX 5200 128MB vid card - i'd be using it strictly for gaming...

  • 3. Unreal 2... Sorry I followed groups advice!
Based on kind of ho-hum reports here, I skipped this one until about a week ago. One of my buddies had it, said he loved it, and asked if I wanted to check it out. I grabbed it just to get a look at the graphics, but man did this game suck me in! I really enjoyed it. Sure, there was some rather cliche stuff, but I can't think of a lot of games that don't recycle popular movie themes or use pop-culture references. The way the attack and defend missions were mixed up reminded me of Mechwarrior 2:Mercs, an oldie I really love, with a couple of the defense missions coming right down to the wire as far as my health and the progress of the invaders was concerned. Some of the scripted stuff was also really cool. The characters mobile armor was very sharp, reminiscent of what I thought the Starship Troopers mobile infantry would use (the books, not the movies). I realize the replay value of a multi-player game isn't there, but this seems like a title I could go back through and play again in a few months. Many reported the length as too short, but since I can usually only spare an hour or so here and there, I thought it was just right to keep the balance of not feeling shortchanged and holding my interest through it's duration. Maybe I'm not a hardcore gamer, I dunno! I dug this one a lot more than it got credit for.

Blue states should secede and form their own country

Postby taxationistheft2003 » Tue, 09 Nov 2004 05:33:14 GMT

Lawrence O'Donnell said on The McLaughlin Group today that secession
of blue states will be an issue during the next 20 years. He's a
socialist scumbag Nazi, but I hope the US does break up.

I want to see the end of the empire of evil/police/welfare state.

All politicians are crooks.

Do the Blue-staters have the guts to secede?

I think the Blue State folks and the Red State folks would both be happier.

happier.

All the bitter lefties whining about the red states should use their
heads and realize that not everyone in those states is what they
are portraying. Some of the vote margins were fairly close. There
are alot of people out there who agree with you. But the left is
so bitter and angry they are saying stupid things right now, and
going to even further alienate the people who DO support them
in those states.

And the vote was very close in several blue states as well. Don't
presume to think that any of us in blue states (I'm one of them)
is on your side.

Take a deep breath and relax for crying out loud (not you who
I'm responding to, but all the ranting lefties).

Be fair - I heard much worse ranting when Clinton won, both times.
What I find depressing in the whole matter is that the margin of victory was
made up of people who are adherents to faith over reason, dogma over
rational thought (I;m speaking of the Evangelical Vote).
Setting aside that we have a walking disaster for a "president" who is
leading the country off a cliff...
I think all this talk of leaving is silly. If you (the metaphorical everyman
"you", not you personally) think the USA is in so much danger, then at least
try to change it with all your strength and intelligence for the next four
years. That's gotta be easier and more worthwhile than moving to a new
country. And if you aren't willing to fight to save your country, if you
just leave, well, you're not an American are you?

Margin of victory? There is no "margin of victory" - without any
single one of the voting blocks that Republicans got, they'd have
lost. Don't believe the bullshit you are being fed by leftists trying
to blame their loss on a particular group that their constituents
don't like. Don't be as stupid as your leaders are. The truth is that
the only votes Bush won this time that he DID NOT win last time were
Latinos. Who in the {*filter*} do you think Christians have been voting
for, the last 40 years? Republicans getting the Christian vote is
nothing new. That's about a third of the Republican party. The
staunchest third, I might add. The segment of the Republican party
that is represented by John McCain, Rudy Juliani, Arnold
Shwarzenegger, etc isn't even really Republican... those are civil
libertarians, who vote Republican because Republicans are a lot closer
to them than Democrats are.

No, what you should be whining about is that the Republican party is a
much more cohesive coalition of voting ineterests than the Democratic
party is. Minority voters are NOT Liberals. They have *nothing* in
common with white Liberals. And that is a REAL problem.

I don't. I want you to leave. In fact, if you believe this president
is leading us off a cliff, you'd be a fool not too. Do you like
falling off cliffs?

Because, you know, if Kerry had won, I would have left the country.
Kerry, in my opinion, would have lead us into Armageddon. With
inaction. And I, for one, don't want to wait around and see who the
Iranians decide to nuke. Something is always better than nothing, and
Bush is at least DOING something... whether you agree with it or not.

Kerry would have done exactly what Democrats always do. Tax, spend and
pretend. You see, democrats never actually DO anything when they get
elected, they just PRETEND to do things. Being a Senator is just a
{*filter*}ing paycheck to John Kerry, and being President would have been
just a paycheck. He doesn't give a flying {*filter*} about anything, except
talking up his own bullshit reputation.

Just more crying from sore losers who are clearly in denial
and not even thinking clearly or they'd realize they are making
complete fools of themselves.

A big part of Rove's plan was to mobilize the evangelical vote.
It worked.

How odd ... this is the same list of groups that the "spacebastards"
post to, yet I see no crosspost to alt.spacebastards.
