I have a noteriety level of 250 and change. I can't seem to get past the crime lords sitting around a table. I don't have and I can't seem to get this "mixer" or any 3rd tier units like mercenary or scientist. What is going on? I have done everything on the map. I got so frustrated that I just left the game running with a ton of units plotting and came back an hour or so to see if anything new popped up and to add more units. Help!

HEARTS OF IRON - COMMAND PENALTIES

I have a question about the command limitations in the original Hearts
of Iron games (I am playing version 1.06).

Here's the example - let's say I have a Field Marshall (who can command
12 units) and he's in charge of the division of 12 units. Then there's
another Field Marshall with another 12 units. If they attack together,
so there's 24 units attacking the opposition in a neighbouring
province, does that mean that I would take a command / leadership
penalty? In other words, is there any advantage to ever attacking with
more than 12 units at once?

Thanks!

Wiebes

I believe the answer is "no". But you can check this yourself. During the
battle in the combat screen, just let your mouse hover over one of the units
involved. You should get a tooltip listing all the modifiers affecting the
unit's combat capabilities, including if it is overstacked.

(BTW, each Field Marshall can command 24 units. A Field Marshall doubles
the command capacity of all corp commanders in the same or adjacent
provinces, _including_ himself.)

If both FMs attack from the same province, you will suffer, as there can
only be one commander per province. Try to attack with two seperate stacks
from two provinces (which will also give you a combat bonus, as one stack is
attacking from the flank)

Hm, I belive a HQ with a General or FM doubles command capacity, a FM on his
own won.

You are thinking of HOI2. There are no HQ units in the first HOI, which
Wiebes specified.

Awesome advice, thank you!! You are correct, I was sending in like 12
armies under a general instead of 8 or 9. And I'm attacking from two
provinces at the same time, and with a field general I am able to have
upwards of 40+ armies!! Awesome game, I am actually winning battles
against the Germans!! Yay! Thanks again, it is much appreciated!
