1.Internal mails never send - external does
Using CDO on my web server (IIS 6.0), I send mails through the SMTP service.
When sending mails to any external email address, the mails are send and
received correct.
But when sending mails to internal email addresses (on same domain), the
mails are never received.
The mails seems to be send - no error - no mails in BadMail folder.
Instead an Undeliverable mail is send to the sender, either saying "The
format of the e-mail address is incorrect" or "You do not have permission to
send to this recipient"
Any help appriciated.
(I am web developer, not Exchange expert)
Thanks,
Charlotte

5.Problem with sending mails to external domains
Hi,
We have a Windows 2000 Advanced Server with Service Pack
3 and IIS 5. We have hosted an application which sends
mail through IIS's SMTP service. Now, whenever I try
sending mail to an external domain through the
application, the mail stays in the Queue folder and does
not get sent. The Event Log gives me this:
=========================================
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: smtpsvc
Event Category: None
Event ID: 4000
Date: 8/24/2004
Time: 3:45:15 PM
User: N/A
Computer: XSERVER
Description:
Message delivery to the remote domain 'x.x.co.in' failed
for the following reason: An SMTP protocol error occurred.
Data:
0000: d7 02 04 c0 .
=========================================
I searched using the Event ID and source and got a few
results that told me that forwarders were not enabled in
DNS. I enabled forwarders and mentioned my ISP's DNS
server IPs. I restarted the DNS service and the SMTP
service. The mails still don't go.
I tried googling for the following string: "An SMTP
protocol error occured" and all the results on the web
said that it could be because of Exchange Server. We do
not use Exchange Server. What could be the problem? What
could be the solution???
Please help!
