  • 1. IE 6 problem...?
Suddenly now when I browse, I can go to different sites all right, but usually a part of the page (in a box) says, "Action Cancelled." These are probably just ads, but I believe it's the cause of other problems, such as freezing so that I have to re- boot. I thought perhaps I didn't have Java installed, but that wasn't it... I also did "repair" on IE 6 -- but still have this problem. If I were to uninstall 6 - then reinstall... how would I do this w/o browser available? Thanks! Sherry
  • 2. ie 6 - error - won't open - same error message
I have IE 6. I just started receiving the following error whenever I try to open the browser. It says that "IE has encountered a problem and needs to close." It keeps repeating whenever I try to opne the application. The error signature reads: AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 ModName: shell32.dll ModVer: 4.72.3812.600 Offset: 00001af2 rebooting does not correct the problem, and I have re- installed IE6, and that doesn't help either. It refuses to open. what could be the problem and how do I fix it? Thanks!!!
  • 3. Internet Explorer 6.0 stops responding and the CPU usage climbs to 100%
Hi, I purchased my dell computer about 4 weeks ago and everything was working perfectly and then about a week ago I noticed that I would be browsing the web and then I would click on a link and I can see that it was taking way to long to load a page. I went into Task Manager to look at the processes and noticed that my CPU usage was at 100%. The machine was very slow. I could see that IExplore.exe was using 50% of the resources and System.exe was using the other 50%. I then went into the Event Viewer and saw the following error message, which made me believe IE is having problems. "Hanging application IEXPLORE.EXE, version 6.0.2800.1106, hang module hungapp, version, hang address 0x00000000." I called Dell Support and tried removing and re- installing Internet Explorer, which did not resolve the problem. I repaired Windows XP professional, which did not resolve the problem. Another support person asked me to delete cookies and temporary internet files as well as perform a disk cleanup and this did not resolve the problem. I am getting very tired of this problem, which is occurring numerous times a day. When this problem happens the only way I can shut my computer down is through a hard re-boot which I hate doing. Please help! Thank, Ryan Kawecki

I had the same problem. I fixed it by going into the file
called "hosts" in system32\drivers\etc. I just deleted
all the entries, but you might be able to do it by only
deleting the ones that start with ""

I had installed Spyblocker, and it had edited the file,
other programs may do the same. Hope it helps. Peace out.

All program browsers for opening an image have suddenly started showing logos

I also habe an error message when running Office XP 2000
