IE6's History Folder is now all of a sudden logging everything I open from my pc in a folder in the 'History Folder' called "My Computer". Also, history pages will not delete when I delete them from the IE\Tools\Options menu. I have to manually from my C Drive. This is a recent problem, occuring since my boss installed Norton AntiVirus and took off my McAffee AntiVirus (which I loved). Any suggestions? I've looked for settings to chane everywhere.

  • 4. Page not Found but found on second attempt
For approximately a week now, when I use IE, the first time I attempt to go to a website, it can't find it, and, if I try it again, it works. That happens with clicking on hyperlinks also. First time "not found" then fine. I assumed that something was amiss so I ran BHOdemon, Ad- aware, and Spybot and removed a few things but it didn't help. I use McAfee Virusscan. I am on Windows 2000 and access the internet through another computer in my office that isn't having this problem. Any thoughts? JRam

I had the same problem. I fixed it by going into the file
called "hosts" in system32\drivers\etc. I just deleted
all the entries, but you might be able to do it by only
deleting the ones that start with ""

I had installed Spyblocker, and it had edited the file,
other programs may do the same. Hope it helps. Peace out.

I had a display picture on my msn messenger page, I updated to msn live

picture dissapeared and I was not able to put it back. All what I see in
Change display picture are choices for dynamic pictures galleries and no
regular pictures that I could choose from. When I chose an image and click OK
a dialog box is informing me that is an invalid image file regardless of what
file I'm choosing, I give up after trying some 20. I cannot say whether
Microsoft is trying to forcing us into getting an account with a bloatware
gallery provider (read : the dynamic picture gallery providers) or simply

All program browsers for opening an image have suddenly started showing logos
instead of thumbnail images, even though I check "thumbnails" where available

I have a problem getting all the pictures to display in

I also habe an error message when running Office XP 2000

Any help about how to fix this would be much
appriciated...I think the GIF problem maybe related to
the firewall in XP Professional can this be turned off?
