I am swithing from AOL to Internet Explorer 6 and I have a couple of questions. Can you import AOL's favorite places (bookmarks), e-mails, and address book directly into IE 6 and Outlook express. If so, how do I do it? It appears they are in a different file format.

Internet explorer 6.0 scrolls very slowly, types on textbox even more slowly

Postby jay-r » Sun, 16 Nov 2003 15:40:56 GMT

everytime i scroll down on webpage browsed on internet
explorer, it scroll very slowly, as you have to wait for
several seconds just to see the it (the fastest is 10
seconds just to scroll down on yahoo webpage).

also, everytime i type on the textbox on every
webpage, character will appear after 15 seconds, and letter
by letter.

I downloaded all the critical updates microsoft had
provided and scan my computer with the latest virus
definitions, even scan it with adaware for any stealth
programs that might cause the problem, but everything is
in vain.

I used mozilla as an alternative browser and it works fine
unlike the internet explorer. What is wrong with my
browser? Is there any way to fix it?

Thanks in advance for all solutions and
recommendations!!!!

2.Windows Explorer Folders Scroll Slowly

XP SP3

My computer has recently developed a problem where the folder list in
Windows Explorer scrolls extremely slowly. Only two things have recently
changed on my computer. 1) I replaced one of my two monitors with a larger
model (I have the correct driver installed), and 2) I installed SP3.

I seem to remember that there is an option somewhere that turns off
scrolling, but I can't seem to find that option. I already cleared the
"Scroll Programs" option in the Start Menu properties, and indeed this is
not a problem with the Start Menu--it only happens in Windows Explorer.

How can I change the behavior in Windows Explorer so that I don't need to
endure the slow scrolling of the folders list?

3.slowly slowly catchy DNS monkey

Hi All,

Just planning our upgrade from NT4 to 2003 (yes I know).

My thought was to install a standalone win2003 server first to run DNS,
would getting the DNS running smoothly before upgrading my PDC/BDC to DCs be
a good plan?

Its just I cant figure out a way to repoint all my current client to the new
internal DNS quickly at the point of server AD upgrade.

I hope this makes sense.
