  • 4. IE.6 Slow To Open
I have a Dell4400 P4 1.6, 700 mb of ram 20g hard drive Originally when began, I would access the explorer browser and it would dispaly within 1 to 2 seconds, after about 12 to 16 months things began to slow down to about 18 sec.to opem the browser. I contacted Dell they suggested I wipe the hard drive and re-load everything, adding that the slow down was par for having and PC 12 to 16months old, that this pretty much happens to everyones PC and that this would correct the problem. Well I wasn't fond of the idea, and equally not sure of how to go about the process, backing up files and the like. So I did the next best thing, I select a new browser, netscape in fact. I've really had no problems with netscape, but again I'm not very fond of the it, the look of it specifically, the way it displays favorites, colors, it's bland looking etc. So I'm slowly coming around to the idea of taking the original suggestion from Dell, of taking everything off the hard drive and loading it back up. But before I dive in I wanted to ask if anyone has had a similar problem with IE.6, any feed back would be greatly appreicated, I can be reached directly at cicerozo(but remove thisfirst)@netscape.net thanks again Best Regards, Joe
