  • 2. IE8 white screens of death
Running 8.0.6001.18702 at 128-bit, no add-ons. The program CONSTANTLY hangs on a white screen when I attempt to open for the first time, or link from Messenger. Sometimes I can close the locked-up window and then any additional clicks since the lock-up spawn new windows. Other times closing the window terminates all instances of IE. Still other times I have to go to task manager. And the program is a CPU hog. My usage spikes every time I try to open a window. Anyone running into this? Wonder if I can still find 6.0 out there....
  • 3. IE DEP Error message
Every time I close IE8 I get the error message that an error has occurred and IE has closed the program because of DEP. I have to close this window and the other window to send an error pops up which also need to be closed. Normal browsing is unaffected. I only occurs after I stop browsing. I have tried to disable DEP without effect. This is a real annoying. -- vichart3

Sysfader.IExplorer error at memory address 0x03111ea8

I recently installed IE8 on two of my PCs. Both PCs are used to make
remote connections to my office through a Citrix remote client
application. On one PC everything is working fine, connecting and
disconnecting. On the other, I connect OK but when disconnecting I
receive a popup error message from the browser that reads: "Sysfader
IExplorer Instruction at address 0x03111ea8 that references
0x03111ea8. Memory could not be read". I searched both PCs for this
file but neither has it. Bad hardward or is this some virus? I ran a
number of scans but found nothing.

Fixes and workarounds abound on the internet for this Sysfader issue:

Most find that removing Transition Effect solves the issue:
Display Properties||Appearance||Effects

Uncheck Use Transition effect

No luck so far. I think I've tried about ten different suggested
solutions and none worked on my PC. What the (*&^%$.

I got it. It was one of those whack IE add-ons. I'm a happy man
now. :-)

You know. After disabling some of those add-ons the browser actually
performs better. Whoa!

Maybe tell other people which ones you disabled? And which one was the
culprit for that error?

BTW: you can observe the load times of your add-ons in the add-ons-
manager, there is a column for it. Mine load all within 0.00/0.01 seconds.

Here's what I found. Add-ons from Microsoft caused the Sysfader:
IExplorer error. They are Groove Folder Sync, Groove GFS Browser
Helper, and Research. Disabling one disable them all. They are
functionally linked together. The Groove component apparently
installed with Office Enterprise 2007. Hope this information helps
someone else.

Thanks for the feedback Kd833.

If you are not using the Groove component to MS Office 2007 you can
uninstall the component from your Office Installation:

The Research bar should not cause this, but if you don't need it, it's
better to disable it (as with any add-ons you don't need). So, I would
rather think it were only the Groove add-ons?

1.SysFader: IExplorer.exe Application error

Hello,

I'm using Win2K and IExplorer version 6.0.2800.1106 with update
version SP1. Lately, I get the above error message referring to the
memory could not be read. Click ok to terminate program and I also get
a Runtime error when I close IE. Can someone help me fix this problem
please. Thanks in advance.

3.SysFader: iexplorer.exe - Application Error

4.sysfader memory error now won't open

Hi,

I've been having problems with IE 7 in that I can't use it at all. I have
been getting a SysFader error, something about it can't access memory
location x_____ whatever or something similar. I can't see this error
anymore to tell you what it said because I was just reading this forum for
similar errors and someone recommended running drwtsn32.exe -i in the run
window which I did. Now it opens for a few seconds but you can't see any web
page or web page loading. You can see the toolbar/menu area and the
perimeter but it seems frozen or something and now it just closes instead of
giving the error. It's really annoying also when I use windows desktop
search and try to click on a link in a found document (which I normally do a
lot) and it tries to load it in IE but now, after the drwatson32.exe thing, I
get an error from windows desktop search saying, "Unable to access file
'filename'." I don't even see anywhere within windows desktop search to
change the default browser to my real default browser.

I tried uninstalling and re-installing IE7 but it just gave the same errors.
Now, if I try to uninstall IE7, it shows me a list of programs that I've
installed since IE7 including Firefox and some of its plugins and it won't
let me continue the uninstall process unless I allow it to uninstall these
items which doesn't make any sense to me and now I'm totally stuck and it's
really annoying.

I hope someone knows how to fix this...
