Hi everyone, just few questions about isa server 2004 : # What about ISA services account(s) ? I have read that using Windows 2000 ISA must use local acount(s) and using Windows 2003 ISA must use domain accounts ... is that right ? How many accounts are used ? What are their roles ? What must be there rights ? #What About ADAM what is the minimal & recommanded ? What abouts Accounts (local or domain) and ACLs ? Is a reboot requiered after installation ? #Using Surf Control Today we use only ISA 2000 for autentification & caching. All the request are forward to SurfControl plugin... Anyone use SurfControl with ISA 2004 ... what's about the rule to created ? #Cache installation Is there a guide to know how to install and configure cache in ISA 2004 ? #Logs Where are the logs ? on each ISA server or in ADAM ? Thank you very much for your help ... Regards,
  • 2. using alternate routes for web browsing users
Does ISA 2006 have the ability to allow me to use a different internet gateway for web proxy traffic i.e. my web browsing users? Simply put, my ISA 2006 server publishes several servers (OWA, OMA, Web sites, Client VPN) over our 20Mb leased line. It also acts as the default gateway for our office internet access (simply put, as there is another cisco 801 router infront of it deciding other factors such as site to site VPN's making up our WAN) which I like because it gives me some sort of control over what they see and what time they see it without having to invest in some specific software/hardware. I have now an ADSL2+ line that runs at 15/1Mb which is intended as a backup for the WAN, but in the mean time I feel would be put to good use to the internet browsing users giving capacity back to the more important leased line. So is it possible to have a different route out for different traffic using just a single ISA 2006 server and what area should I be looking at in the config? Many thanks, Alex

We are experiencing problem using ISA as proxy server. It blocks the access to certain web sites. The tracetr can find the site no problem and I can ping the site too, but either IE or Firefox cannot display the site. The number of affected sites are growing. Any suggestion would be highly appreciated. Dingyi

Hi,

We use MS ISA Server 2000 as our LAN proxy server. All clients have set up
MS Firewall Client.
Our access rule is to allow any protocols other than TCP 137 and TCP 138.
Now our client PCs can
browse web and use other applications such as MSN Messenger and Outlook
Express.
But we can't use Skype behind ISA Server.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

David
