1.bootable cd's created using Easy CD Creator
Hi all, I've created an ISO image for an AIX 4.3 bootable CD using mkisofs. I'd like to ftp it to an NT that has HP Easy CD Creator and create a bootable CD. We had the Easy CD Creator software on an NT pc, but it got upgraded to Win2000. I've loaded the Easy CD Creator software to another NT, but can't seem to get the settings right to create a bootable CD. Any ideas on what needs to be set? I'm assuming under CD Layout Properties that Filesystem needs to be ISO9660. Other than that I've tried different options, but I can't seem to get it to write a CD that can then be read. The write operation works ok - i.e, no errors, but when I try to read the cd even on the NT it is listed as corrupted. Never mind the bootable aix part. Any help will be much appreciated.
2.Creating RH 9.0 bootable disk using WinXP/Roxio Easy CD Creator 5
I'll install RH 9.0 from a CD-ROM. I have 3 files I downloaded. I understand that the first CD should be a bootable disk. How do I do it using Roxio Easy CD Creator 5? Here follow the steps to create bootable CD using Roxio Easy CD Creator offers, according to the Help. What option/emulation should I use to create the 1st CD? 2nd and 3rd CDs -- should also they be created as bootable disks? Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------- 1. Insert a blank CD into your CD-Recorder (the destination drive). 2. Start a new bootable CD project. From the File menu, point to New CD Project then select Bootable CD. The Choose Type of Bootable CD dialog box appears. 3. Select the Bootable CD Type: Floppy Disk Emulation (1.44 MB): Select this option if you want a bootable CD that allows you to boot your system under a specific operating system, and then load a device driver that understands the true format of the CD, usually ISO 9660. (Requires a bootable floppy disk. See Create a Bootable Floppy Disk.) Floppy Disk Emulation (2.88 MB): Select this option if you want a bootable CD that allows you to boot your system under a specific operating system, and then load a device driver that understands the true format of the CD, usually ISO 9660. (Requires a bootable floppy disk. See Create a Bootable Floppy Disk.) Hard Disk Emulation: Select this option if you want to provide a large MS-DOS compatible CD-ROM storage space on which programs may reside and access data. No Emulation: Select this option if you do not want the CD to emulate a floppy or hard disk.
3.How to create Knoppix CD ROM?
How to make a bootable CD for Knoppix? I'm currently running WinXP and using Roxio's "Easy CD Creator". Can I create bootable CD from which I'll able to run Knoppix? Can I use CD-R, or I need CD-RW for that? What files should be on the CD and how do I get the OS loaded into my machine from CD, after changing BIOS setup to boot from CD drive? TIA
4.boot knoppix from SCSI CD ROM
My hard disk was corrupted and I've tried to fix with "e2fsck -y". Then "re-install/repair" with Red Hat 9. It seems to boot and mount hard disk but no network support and cannot mount floppy. With knoppix, I can boot it off CD and run entire linux. But I have SCSI CD ROM, can someone tell me how I can boot knoppix with SCSI?
