Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange A user has created a new calendar item in Outlook 2007. He has shared the calendar item out to both Mac and Windows users. The Windows users are able to connect to this calendar (Outlook 2007) but the Mac users cannot. In Entourage, the mac user goes to File>Open Other User's Folder and finds the correct user but there are only 3 types to choose from (Calendar, Address Book, Inbox). The mac user chooses Calendar but gets an error message saying he doesn't have permission to open the folder. What is interesting is that the mac user can connect to the main Calender when the just that calendar is shared. How can the Mac user (Entourage 08) connect to a Calendar Item that is being shared out from Outlook 2007 on Windows XP?
  • 3. Scripting / Shortcutting Language
Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange Dear all, after much searching around, I had to give up on a (seemingly) very simple issue: given that entourage cannot create custom buttons, I want to create a script OR a shortcut that selects "Tools -> Spelling Language -> German" from the menu. Setting the language is apparently not scriptable per se, so I tried the following script: tell application "System Events" tell process "Microsoft Entourage" select menu item "German" of menu 1 of menu item "Spelling Language" of menu 1 of menu bar item "Tools" of menu bar 1 end tell end tell This works like a charm if you press "run" in the script editor BUT if you run it from inside entourage you get the spinning wheel and nothing happens. Does anybody have an idea, why? Having been disappointed by that route I tried the "create keyboard shortcut" option using system preferences. I can apparently select everything by assigning a shortcut to it, EXCEPT for the languages - again, nothing happens here, even though the entry "German", for example, beautifully picks up the shortcut I've assigned to it in the menu. Any help would be much appreciated! [Haven't tried Keymaster yet, as I don't want to shell out money yet for something that seems so simple ;)] Cheers, Christian

  • 5. Replies to sent emails not received.
Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) Processor: Intel Email Client: pop For the past few weeks, when a recipient receives one of my emails and replies, they receive a bounceback notice. This does not occur when individuals send original emails, only when they reply to one I've sent. It's as if there is some type of "no response allowed" embedded in my outgoing emails. I've double-checked spam filter settings and contacted our site host so there's no problem there. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Never had the problem with Entourage 2004, only 2008. Thanks.

outbound rules not working with Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

Hi,

in my workflow I used an outbound email rule, which moved all messages I sent over my Exchange account into my Exchange INBOX folder.
After upgrading to the new version of Entourage (V13.0.0), this rule does not work anymore. I tried to re-create it, but just nothing happens after sending an email. It just goes to the Sent Items folder and is not moved to the INBOX as before. Is there a workaround for this situation? Is this a bug or just an error in my installation? Can anyone confirm this behaviour?

Regards
Marco

Did you create the rule under the Exchange tab?

I created the rule under the "Ausgehend" tab (German version). Should be something like "outbound" in the English version

I don't have the EWS version installed to check. In the regular version of
Entourage under Preferences --> Compose, there is an option to "Save
copies of sent messages in the Sent items folder." Be sure this is
unchecked. It's possible the final version defaults to this and over-rides
your rule.

I just checked that. Funny enough even with this unchecked and rule enabled the outbound mail is stored in Sent Items.
I believe it might just be a bug.

Is there still a way to report bugs on Connect? If yes, you should report it
or use send feedback.

When working in Office, you can use the end Feedbackoption under the
Help menu in all of the Office applications or visit

I am experiencing exactly the same problem with "Outgoing" rules after
upgrading to Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition (v13.0.0). Outgoing
rules simply do not run anymore.

Like Marco, I had a rule to copy outgoing messages to my inbox. This
rule worked before the upgrade, but it stopped working after the
upgrade. In trying to diagnose the problem, I have found that I
cannot make any outgoing rules work. Even a simple rule to play a
sound or display a dialog box for each outgoing message fails.

I hope that this is a bug that the Office for Mac team will fix soon.

Trying to install the recent WSE having previously been using the beta, but the installation check says my hard disk does not qualify (the startup volume appears with an exclamation mark in the list of volumes in Installer.app).

I have deleted /Applications/Microsoft Office 2008 and then re-installed from our original media and updated to 12.2.1 before running the installer again, but still no go.

Also tried running the installer from another clean administration account but that was the same.

What exactly is the installation check looking for?

2.Quirky Rules Issue with Entourage Web Services Edition

Hi,

I have a rule set up that forwards certain messages to an office colleague. Ever since I installed Web Services Edition, when this rule is applied it sends multiple copies of the message to that person and doesn't stop until I deactivate the rule. My thought is that this is not normal.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office, deleted and recreated my profile, and deleted and recreated this specific rule. I would like to know if this is a known issue and if so how to resolve it.

Thanks.
