• 1. Applescript to prevent not attaching the attachment
I've done it again. Sent an email promising an attachment... but without the attachment. I wonder if anyone would like to have a go an Apple Script that might check for an attachment; look for the word 'attachment' in the body of the email and if it finds it and there's no attachment, on sending, throw up a warning message saying "There's no attachment with this email, is this what you really want?" Needless to say, it's way beyond me. Many thanks
  • 2. BCCs are not send if the From field is a delegate (Entourage/Excha
I'm using the latest Entourage on Exchange 2000. When I send a BCC: message as a delegate, the To: address is delivered, the Sent Item in Entourage shows the BCC:, but the BCC: address is not delivered. If I look at the Sent Items in Windows/Outlook, the BCC does not show. If I send the BCC: as a delegate from Outlook, the message is sent properly. 1. How can I send BCCs as a delegate (or at least get an error that they are not delivered) from Entourage? 2. What's the difference between the Entourage Sent Items Folder and the Outlook Sent Items Folder, so that Entourage shows the BCC and Outlook doesn't? Thank you.
  • 3. Entourage personal settings/data file
What files should I be backing up to preserve my Entourage settings and personal data? I suspect all or some of the Microsoft User Data files, but that can consume a lot of file space, especially if backing up to iDisk.
  • 4. Signature for email account ending up in calendar items
Here's a stumper... I have three email accounts set up, one POP, one IMAP, and one Hotmail. The IMAP account has a default signature and the POP account does not. The IMAP also has a digital certificate, but I don't think that is part of the issue. When the POP account is set as the default, I get the IMAP signature text showing up in the text box of new calendar events that I set up. When I have the IMAP account set up as the default account, the text box is blank, presumably because the POP account has no default signature text. Anybody else ever see this? I don't know how long it has been this way as I've had the IMAP account set as default ever since installing Office 2004. Crashes when Looking Up A Word

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: imap

My Entourage (2008) recently started crashing every time I look up a word in the dictionary/thesaurus as I am writing an email. This seems to only happen when I right click on the word to open the tool box/dictionary. If I open the tool box/dictionary and type a word directly into the field, it usually doesn't crash. I'm not sure how to fix this. Thanks in advance for your help.

Best,
This could be a sign of database corruption. Let's eliminate your Identity.

1) Under Entourage in the Menu bar, select Switch Identity.
2) Create a new test Identity
3) No need to enter account info...cancel out of setup.
4) Test the problem in the new Identity

If the problem goes away you can try rebuilding your database. It's possible
that rebuilding will not fix the problem and in that case you'll need to
manually move your data over to a new Identity.

If the problem existed in the new Identity, we need to eliminate your
current User's account. Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in
Accounts. Switch to the New User by logging out/in or use Fast User
Switching. Test the problem in the new User.

If the problem goes away then there is a conflict or corruption in your
User's folder.

If the problem still exists, it's your base OS files or your Office install.

Make a duplicate in the Finder first as additional backup. A rebuild does
make a duplicate, but sometimes in the process the original and backup get
merged resulting in total disaster. It's rare but it happens.
How to rebuild:

How to manually move your data. (when import fails and/or you need to move
to a new Identity same version or revert to an older version)

See this page for options. It's not an easy process.

1.Global Address Look-Ups Fail after Panther 10.3.5 Upgrade

I was running 10.2.8 with Entourage X to our Exchange server and
everything worked fine - Mail, Global Address and Calendar. I just

I can't tell if the crash log provides enough information or not,
however it sure suggests a font error.

There are four places that Word 2004 looks for fonts. Did you replace
all of them?

1) HD:System:Library:Fonts - you'd need administrator access to
replace them

2) HD:Library:Fonts - again, you'd need administrator access to replace

3) ~:Library:Fonts - where ~ is your home directory

4) HD:System Folder:Fonts - Classic/OS 9 system folder

3.Word 2003, crashes when trying to "look up" or "researc" a word

Every time I try to right click and "look up," alt +click, or pick a word and

information and, and I've upgraded to SP3, but the problem

4."Look Up" or "Research" features cause Word to crash

When trying to use the "Look up" feature from the tools menu or the context
menu, Word crashes. You get a prompt to restart Word with a backup copy.

5.Look Up Crash MS Word

I'm running MS Word 2003 on a Windows XP Dell Inspiron laptop. Whenever I
highlight a word, right click and chose "Look Up", the "Research" pane comes
up, causing Word to Crash.

This wouldn't be a big deal (I just wouldn't do that) except for the fact
that every so often I someone trigger the keystroke that does the same thing
- which is very annoying.

Can someone help me solve this problem? Why would Word crash when trying to
lookup a word?
