- 1. word template file with EPS graphics causes word to crash
hello, I have word vX for mac osX. I have a letterhead that has been created as a template file. So that in theory when I create a new document, my logo and contact details appear automatically. When I try to save documents that are created from the template file, word crashes. Also when I add more data than will fit on one page and the text flows to a second page, mysteriously the footer info disappears. My logo is two EPS graphics that reside in the header section of the page. Can anything be done about this? Has MS addressed this issue in Word 2004? I would upgrade if I knew for sure that it would work okay. All I waant to be able to do is create sexy looking docs based on a template, using eps graphics. Why is this so difficult? I'm using Word X with all the updates installed, connected to an HP OfficeJet G85. Word only prints the last page of any document; have re-installed printer driver and deleted Word Preferences and Word Settings (10) files from Library>Preferences>Microsoft. Any ideas? - 3. Since some days, whenever i try to open word or the others it quits. The error in console is: 2004-08-25 19:25:08.509 Microsoft Error Reporting[8478] CFLog (21): Cannot find executable for CFBundle 0x149ce0 </System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/liberty.framework> (not loaded) I tried to replace the liberty framework and it worked for a day. Then still the same, i try to open it and it quits. I tried deleting all prefs, changing fonts, rebuilding mac os directory. Nothing. If I use another user on my system, it works. I use 10.3.5 - 4. Apologies if this has been covered, but I could not see a reference here or on the MVP site. I'm working in a small Mac-based unit in a primarily Windows organisation and therefore frequently have to send Word 2004 documents to Windows users for review and comment. I now have a strange situation where numbered lists either show as 0, 0.0, 0.0.0 or some apparently random number of the 235687.1 variety when opened with Word97 in a Citrix terminal server environment. This seems to vary according to the page view the user chooses but nonetheless prints correctly no matter what is shown on screen. I've used every Mac version of Office since 98 and have never seen this before. I'm using Windows encoding of attachments from Entourage. Is this a known issue? Thanks in advance if anyone knows. I purchased a new iMac that had Office:Mac 2004 Test Drive already installed. I've been using it and saving files in Word. My 30-day trial is up in four days. I decided I liked it and ordered the full version but it will probably not arrive until next week. Will the demo version simply stop responding when the 30 days is up? What will happen to the Word files I've already created in Test Drive? Is there any way to extend the trial period, if I can verify I've ordered the full version? Couldn't find anything about this.

There's no help to offer. Any version of Word prior to 2007 on the PC or 2008 on the Mac *cannot* open a .docx file. You need additional software. You don't mention what version of Word you have, but even if it's Word X or 2004 your OS is too out of date to employ the OOXML Converters (they require 10.4.9 or later). Even the Open Office versions that will open .docx files will not run on Cheetah. Your best bet is to have someone with the necessary software convert the file or open & Save As a Word 97-2004 .doc for you. Hello Pep, If you don't want to install other software just for this, get the originator to open their document and save the document as a ".doc". Reason: the converter produced by Microsoft only works with OS X 10.4.8 (Tiger) or a later version of Mac OS. Or if you have Apple's Pages application, do the conversion there. Or (I'm told) Open Office, which is free. There are some others; someone may come by soon and nominate them. Hi everyone! I bought my laptop 10 months ago. It is HP compag presario V3000. I us Windows vista Basic. I installed Microsoft office student 2007. It wa ok for the first 5 months. But now it has some problems. Firstly, I can't not open any old doc file by Microsoft Office Word With Microsoft power point, it take about 20 minutes to 30 minutes t open one ppt file. Second, Each time when I start Microsoft Office Word program, It als take so long, but with Microsoft power point I can use it immediatly. I try to reinstall window vista, and Microsoft Office. I also try wit Microsoft Office Professional 2007. But these errores still appear. Please help me. Thank you very much
