The most annoying thing about IE is that I have to click twice to go into edit
mode in the location bar. Luckily, Safaris text input works like every other
text input on the machine, it goes into edit mode.

If you want the whole URL copied to another application, drag the URL icon to
the left of the URL.

That's the stupidest thing I've read all week. Who would want Macs to become
less consistent, have more bugs, have inferior applications and more malware?
No one.

I doubt it. He approached the Mac having already decided that he was NOT
going to like it and that he refused to learn anything new. Just let him
rant and rave and finally give-up and start screaming that Macs suck!
It's what he WANTS to do, after all.

OMG, you're totally right. I just tried a different PC and I don't even
know how to describe it. You kinda just keep clicking until you eventually
get the result you want. What a mess!

Agreed.

So....how many weeks do we let him sit and stew before we offer to buy
his mini from him, and at how many cents on the dollar?

Afterall, according to Elam and company, its already only worth around
$29.95, right? :-)

Actually, I'm thinking of buying a Mini for a home server. I'll pay him
$34.95.

From the looks of it, you aren't posting from the mini. Why
not?
Right now you're posting from windwoes.

Triple-click it. See what happens with each click.

Or even better, if Windows had been a better implementation / ripoff
of the mac, you wouldn't be having these issues now.

I can't wait to hear what you think of the trash can.. Bp

ah, how long have you been using the web? at least for me I edit an url
about 30ish times a day since it allows you to bounce around a site
without using the page links... much of the problem is you are trying to
use Safari, get rid of it. Camino is a much better Mac browser.

 http://www.**--****.com/

and by the way, not sure about safari, but in Camino, if you click once
on the location icon, the full URL is highlighted, if you double click
on the actual URL, the main word you clicked on is highlighted, triple
click and the whole URL is highlighted.

my advice to you is dump safari quickly, it will give you a bad taste
since it's not really a Mac based app.
