I work as a Windows Mobile developer and am in the market for a new laptop. I have always liked the Mac concept, but felt tied to Windows because of my job. I understand that I can run Windows within a virtual machine like Parallels, but have a few concerns: 1) Speed - a full WM OS build takes a lot of time and processor power, but more of one equates to less of the other. Does anyone out there have any experience doing builds like this in a VM on a Mac? 2) ActiveSync - I have seen several articles that ActiveSynce (USB) is problematic in connecting to a VM. Again, anyone have any experience with this? 3) Serial Debugging - I often use multiple serial ports (usually USB) to receive debug information from WM devices. How is Mac support for USB serial ports and are there any good (and free) terminal programs for the Mac? If anyone has any resources that they can point me at, please do so. TIA! -Josh

Forgive him. He is the product of the democratic public education system.
They are not allowed to fail people for failing because it might give them
self-esteem problems. It's part of the huge American swing to socialism. The
democrats want EVERY student to get the same grade. For college just divide
the spaces up based on skin color quotas instead of the ones that worked for
their grades.

Erm,... we've had troops in Europe for a very long time, only in the
posture of the cold war. Only now are we starting to thin down our
troops there. The troops should've been taken out when the Berlin wall
fell.

That much is true.

I think the reason that so many people believe it to be a mess is due in
part largely by the sensationalization by the media. I hear it to be a
bit different. Maybe we should compare Washington D.C. area to Bagdad
and it won't seem so bad.

But he did switch to a Mac, however. Now that's something. But old

"We make jokes about it but the truth is this presidential election
really offers us a choice of two well-informed opposing positions on
every issue. OK, they both belong to John Kerry, but they're still
there." - Jay Leno

I don't think they care. As long as hitting us causes the deep angst and
curtailment of freedoms and other breaches of our lifestyle like 9/11
did, they are going to feel that it's worth it to hit the US. And they
will try to do it again and again and again, relying on the law of
averages to occasionally succeed.

No doubt in my mind that you are correct.

Absolutely!

Would it be just as acceptable for countries to attack the US before we
could attack them? If not, what logical criteria should we use?

Should I start holding my breath now waiting for this "democratic Iraq?"

Also, how ironic that Bush is going to bring democracy to Iraq while
removing it from the US.

Would be interesting to see people in csma make predictions as to when they
think Iraq will be relatively free, democratic, and peaceful. Anyone
willing to make a guess?

Sad thing is there are many people who buy his BS.

Never. The moment we pull out, the whole country will run red with
{*filter*}. We might leave a "democratic government" in place, but it won't
even last as long it takes our troop transport planes to fly from there
to here.

Stupid question. Before GW's war, it was the Iraqi government {*filter*}ing
their own people. After the US pulls out, it will be the Iraqi people
{*filter*}ing each other. Frankly I think the ordinary man in the street
was better off under Saddam. At least one had to show-up on Saddam's
radar before you were a target. After this, you just have to be crossing
a street at the wrong time.
