  • 1. Visual Basic .NET 2003 vs. Visual Studio .NET 2003
    Hi - I want to move my development solutions and experience into the .NET world and have some experience in VB (with MS Access). My primary focus will be Windows applications using the MSDE for relational database data storage. I am not sure whether I should go right into Visual Studio .NET or start with VB .NET and can't tell what the main driving force would be to jump full force into Visual Studio. The only thing that I can tell is the VS .NET provides some easy integration into database centric applications with ADO.NET that VB .NET does not. Is this true? Are there other reasons I should consider? -- Thanks in advance! TJ
  • 2. Learning Visual C++ , C#, Visual Basic .NET(s)
    Hi all, I am new to all of the programming languages out, pertaining to .NET Development. I am trying to gain MCAD / MCSD Certifications. I was wondering if you can learn the skills needed to program using C++, C# or VB .Net using Visual Studio .NET 2005 Beta Version? Would the 2005 Beta have the software needed to learn the 2003 version of study, since the Cert Tests are testing you using 2003 Editions. ??? And Thanx...!!!!

They are very different, but they do make for good practice. In some cases (such as the ADO.NET exam), they are harder than Microsoft's tests. (Yes, I know there is no Microsoft ADO.NET exam equivalent, but you get my drift.)

Congrats, SSS!

Out of curiosity, how would you compare the difficulty of the Brain Bench
ASP.NET exam to that of Microsoft's?
