Money+ Update not working for anyone else?



  • 1. Can't Read Data File
    When my hard drive crashed, I re-installed Money Plus Deluxe (the most recent version) in a new computer and downloaded my data file (for my checking account) from Mozy, the online backup system. When I try to restore the file, the "Account Register" page comes up blank. When I then try to read the restored file, I get a message asking if I want to back up the file, and then a message that "The path name is invalid." On the advice of Microsoft support, I deleted the password, but that didn't help. They also advised creating a backup file in one computer and restoring it in another computer. That didn't help, either. I have tried to restore other, older backup files, but the same thing happens. My main computer runs Windows 7 and the other computer runs Windows XP; I have tried restoring the file on each computer with no luck. Does anybody have any ideas? Thanks.
  • 2. Unable to open Money 2006
    Recently I have had to do a destructive restore of my computer and am now not able to open MM 2006. Whenever I attempt to open it I receive a box telling me about MM 2006 Internet-Based Services Policy with the options to either Accept or Decline the agreement. When I click the Accept button it just shuts money down amd if I use the Decline button it does the same. I am currently using Windows XP Pro 2002 Version.     Hello, I have a friend who I have just moved onto Windows 7 Home Premium. He has some Money 98 , .mny, files. I understand that Microsoft has stopped support for Money? How can he access these files? He still has Money 98 on his old PC - can he open the files with this and save them in another form which he could access under Windows 7? Cheers Geoff

I have about 8 accounts not getting a download via the Online Update tool. 
Content and Quotes were downloaded fine but these 8 accounts with different 
institutions are not updating.

I wouldn't think it would be an issue with anyone else but wanted to check. 
I've tried updating several times over an hour period and still no luck.

Ditto here.  I've been unable to update this evening after trying
several times.

Try to remove your windows live ID from your money file. that should
do it.
And if you need the live ID to download from some institutions, try to
change the windows live ID to a different e-mail

That worked for me - thanks, rubik cube. Weird that this used to work in the 
old version but not in the new Money Plus.

Same problem here.  How do you remove you id from the money file it wont let 
me start without my ID?

If you want to remove the Passport from a file you may have to turn
off Tools->Settings->ReceiveAccountUpdatesFromMsnMoneyMyAccounts

Then at File-PasswordManager you can choose to remove your
Passport.  To remove or add a conventional password, also see

I have money 2004 deluxe. All the quotes and bank statements download fine, but the money update always ends with an unknown error. Anyone else have this problem or a solution if you have had it?

4.Money 2007 Update Utility Not Working

Everytime I start Money 2007 I have a pop up window asking me to update Money 
and press OK.

Which I do, and it closes Money and downloads the update. It then asks if 
it's ready to install, and that crashes. Then it says 'Microsoft Money Update 
Utility has caused an error and needs to be restarted.' or whatever that 
message is.

That happens everytime I start Money, and I'd like to update it, because 
that notification is real annoying.

What is wrong ? Is there a way to manually update Money 2007 ?


5.Updates not working - online banking

I am experiencing the same thing but for my online bank account with ING 
Direct. I get the red triangle with exclamation point on the main page and 
the error message of "Money was unable to contact the Internet, banking, or 
brokerage server because the server name was not recognized. Click Connection 
Settings in the Tool menu and verify that your Internet settings are 
configured correctly. (OFXIE2007)"

I have verified the settings and they "appear" to be okay.  I have also run 
the Repair Money on the mny file and the same behavior continues.

I use Money 2006.

Thoughts anyone?
