1.Will Office 2000 work on new computer with XP operating system
I have an IBM Thinkpad X31 and having freshly installed XP Home I wanted to install Office 2000 Professional. This has failed with a pop-up asking me to insert the XP Professional SP2 CD which I don't have. Why would it ask for this? I have installed this previously on my desktop which has XP Professional with no problems. What is wrong? 2.Office 2000 programs will not open in Vista operating system
I recently purchased a new computer equipped with Vista. The computer was pre-loaded with a 90 day version of Office 2008. When it expired, I installed my Office 2000 Pro and uninstalled the 2008 version. Word tires to open and then displays the error message below. I did install all recommended service packs 1,2,3. Excel also displays a similar error message, however Excel does open, but crashes when you try to open an existing file. Any help will be appreciated. 3.Microsoft Office 2000 and Microsoft Vista
I have Office 2000 and cannot seem to install the Service packs for it. I am running Windows Vista Ultimate service pack 2 on the machine. Are the Microsoft Office service packs compatable with Windows Vista? Thanks Kevin
4.installation Office Ultimate 2007 fails on Vista Ultimate syst
A trial version is installed. I've already tried to repair windows. No problem was found. I tried installing as adminstrator as well. Perhaps it is that pesky trial version that is the problem. 5..doc not opening with Office Home and Student 2007 on a Vista syst
I am unable to change the default program to Word for .doc files after loading Office Home and Student 2007. If I open Word first, files open fine. If I right-click on the .doc file and select C:\program files\microsoft office\office 12\winword.exe to open it with, I get the error message: "is not a valid Win32 application". Also, while .docx and other extensions show "Microsoft Office Word" as their current default, .doc only shows "WORD" after I manually select C:\program files\microsoft office\office 12\winword.exe under the "Default Programs" tab in Vista. I have seen that this is a known problem on various websites, however, none of the solutions recommended seem to work. Any help greatly appreciated.
