  • 1. Problem with Access 2003 User Security DB opening with Access 2007
I have a copy of a shared Access 2003 database (.mdb) which I created and have used since 2000 with group/user level security file (system.mdb). I have recently since moved to another company and want to use the database at this office. Every time I try to open it, I get the error message "You do not have the necessary permissions to use the :\NameOfDatabase.mdb object. Have your system administrator or the person who created this object establish the appropriate permissions for you." I am a little more confused now that I have read a couple of these posts that refer to a "System.mdw" file. I believe mine has always been "System.mdb". How can I open this database? I would really appreciate assistance since I spent ~ 10 years refining this database and would love to be able to use it again. -- Donna N.
  • 2. Database System group
I have a secured file, mdb not created in system.mdw. Is there an easy way to import from a different mdw file into the system.mdw so that it doesn't conflict with other databases that I use under the system.mdw? Having trouble, and can't figure this out. Thanks, clois

Cannot update/repair Office 2003

Postby cnVnZ2VyaWo » Wed, 22 Sep 2004 11:59:04 GMT

I cannot apply any patch to Microsoft Office 2003 and I cannot even run a
repair off the original upgrade CD. This is frustrating, in that I cannot
apply any security patches.

Hi.

I'm not sure that this is the correct News Group to post your request for
advice, because installing patches to applications is something controlled
by the operating system, not Microsoft Access security. What error message
are you receiving? If anyone here is familiar with this error, we'll let
you know.

Please help... I am having problems installing updates & add-ins, repairs to Microsoft Office XP

Windows Installer patch files (.MSP files) from previously applied Office updates are missing from
