2.spinning beach balls in excel
Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
HI all, I am running leopard on an iMac3.06 with 4 GB ram. Excel was running ok, then I added a 1TB external drive (la Cie) via Firewire and now it seems like every time I copy even a small range in excel, I get a spinning ball for about 10 seconds until control is returned to me. This persists after shut down and reboot. Excel is not crashing, its just slow. Is it because of the new external drive?? Any suggestions? Thanks all. Cheers,
3.Word and excel constantly giving me 10 - 30 seconds spinning beach balls
Leopard 10.5.4, Word 12.1.2 (2008), 4 GB, fairly new machine 2.6GHz
Intel. Just doing simple things like selecting menus, copy small
amounts of text, going from one word document to another word
document, I am constantly getting a spinning beach ball that lasts 10
- 30 seconds. This seems to happen in both Word and Excel. What
gives? I tried Excel 2004 and did not have this problem at all with
the same document.
4.Spinning beach ball
During a download such as movies and music through the browser, the
system gets slow down. I understand this is how it goes, however,
sometimes it gets very annoying as I want to browse something else
while downloading, especially when scrolling down the screen, it
freezes. I use OS X10.1.5 on iMac G4 700MHz, IE5.2.3, 256MB RAM.
I've been thinking to upgrade the RAM to 512MB. I try to close many
applications during the download to avoid the spinning beach ball but
it happens all the time. Does system upgrade help speeding up and
less spinning beach ball? My connection is DSL and the average
download speed is 80KB/sec. per one download. If somebody has
upgrated from the standard 256RAM to more and has seen an improvement,
please tell me your experience. Or any other help regarding my
question will be fully appreciated.
Thanks friends.
