    This maybe an impossible feat for excel, but I'll ask any ways. I have 12 charts on one sheet (one for each month of the year). These charts take up alot of space due to the complexity of the charts. I would like anyone that is interested in viewing the charts able to find the Year-To- Date chart with ease. The charts are as compact as possible and still able to read (Ctrl and Scroll Button on Mouse was used). Is there a way to have a transparent icon or symbol(even text if possible) to show users in what direction the chart is?

    I have a graph in excel, but I no longer have the source data from which the graph was created. Is it possible to recover the original source data directly from the graph? How do I do this? Thanks in advance.
  • 3. graphs with dynamic x-y axis
    Hi, can I have dynamic charts that allow me to change the values for the x-y coordinates? E.g. if I have a histogram of names along the bottom, and ages on the y axis, can I then choose from a drop down list whether to show e.g all names from the spread sheet or just names beginning with 'A' or whatever? i.e sort of like a pivot table but in graph form thanks very much for any help cheers barbara

    the easiest way to do it is to copy the chart as a picture (hold shift)<edit><Copy as picture>and paste the picture in a sheet. the other way to do it is to create a new copy of the data sheet for each chart you need to make. Hiding Values Below Z Axis Minimum Value on Axis Charts

Postby VHJ5aW5nVG9FeGNlbA » Sat, 19 Feb 2005 06:41:19 GMT

I want to use an area chart to show values for data series above a certain
minimum Z axis value. Unfortunately, I can't find a way to hide parts of
series that have values below this minimum. The chart shows a continuation of
the series as though the values were AT the minimum. I've also tried to
manually clear cells in the table that have values less than the mimum but
that hasn't worked. Any suggestions?

XL's ability to draw 3D charts is very limited. You have hit one of
the limitations.

Hi,

I am trying to create a code to define the minimum value of the Y-axi

the code. Perhaps anyone give me an idea how to do this!!!
Thanks and more power!!!

With ActiveChart.Axes(xlValue)
.Select
dblMin = .MinimumScale
End With
With ActiveChart.SeriesCollection(SeriesNo)
.Select
nminValue =  min(.Values = "=Table1!R1C1:R10C10")
<------Perhaps somethig wrong with this line.
End with

If dblMin = 0 then
dblMin = nminValue
With ActiveChart.Axes(xlValue)
.select
.MinimumScale = dblMin
end with
end If

3.Data labels along below x axis when y axis has negative values

Hi,
I created a stacked column chart where my y axis has values ranging from
700k to -700k. For each column I have a label displayed along the x-axis.
However, by default the labes are displayed just below 0 on the x axis (right
in the middle of the chart). If a charts scale ranges from 0 to > 0 the
labels are displayed outside of the chart by default...not the case when the
y axis scale has negative values.

I double clicked on the values and went to the alignment tab but could not
get the vales to offset low enough so that they are outside of the graph (ie-
under -700k on the y axis).

How do I display the labels outside of the grey shading on the graph when my
y axis has negative vales?
