  • 3. Using Average Function
excel keeps wanting to include cells that contain formulas linking it t another spreadsheet in a average function. Raw data is placed i spreadsheet A on a monthly basis. spreadsheet B takes data fro spreadsheet A. Some months there is no data to long in, but o spreadsheet B it where there is no data transfered from sheet A i still looks at cells that contain the linking formula as a cell in th it's average calculation. example: cells on sheet B a1 - m1 will contain linking formulas to sheet A. Som of those cell will reflect the data entered on sheet A. Some cells wil be empty because there was no data entered in the referenced cells o sheet A. The problem is the average funtion is counting all cells i the calculation including those that contain only the linking formula How can I stop excel from doing this
  • 4. Why Type "Mismatch"???
Are there anybody who with experienced eyes can see the cause of the error? I use one sheet as a "storage" or template for formulas and they are like a ordinary formula pointing at specific excel cells etc. I have only deleted the "=" in the beginning. I try to reconstruct a formula now and use in vba like Sample code: Sub RestoreFormulas () Set Sheet118.Range("C29:G48").Cells.Formula = "=" & Sheet203.Range ("C29:G48").Cells.Value End Sub A typical template formula in one cell is: NkSc2!$D$29-NkSc1!$D$29 but that doesn't matter, I guess Sheet 203 is actually a paste copy of sheet118, so the excel sheet formats is identical. Why do I get type mismatch in the code above??? /Regard

Paste EXCEL 2007 sheet into WORD 2007 - objects move around

Postby TWFydGluIEw » Sat, 19 Jan 2008 01:01:02 GMT

Hi!

We have developed a number of standard datasheets that we use on a daily
basis in our business. The datasheets contain, among other things, logos and
certification texts. We recently upgraded from Office 2000 to Office 2007,
and have encountered problems when copying the sheets into WORD reports.
After the upgrade, the images and textboxes of the sheets move about after
pasting into WORD, destroying the layout of our reports. We copy the sheet as
picture "as printed". Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any advice on
how to proceed?

Thanks,

Martin

Anyone?

An example of our problem: At the top of our datasheet we have placed a logo
at a specified position. We use shift+edit and select "copy image", "as print
result", and then paste the image into the WORD document. In the image of our
datasheet, the logo has now moved downwards and to the right, partly
concealing information in the data sheet.

Move the logo further UP and LEFT on the "datasheet"

First, the logo is as far up as possible to begin with.
Second, we also print the sheets directly from a printer, and create pdf's,
so changing the original layout is not a solution.

This is either a new layout problem with Office 2007, or a problem with
using Office 2000 files in Office 2007. Office never has been good at layout,
but it is always annoying when an upgrade leads to worse
performance/possibilities than before.

Yes, going from 2000 to 2007 is quite a change, (in more ways than one)
having skipped 2002 and 2003. It is difficult to say how you may fix the
issue.

We finally figured it out. It would seem that Excel 2007 has a major WYSIWYG
problem, that wasn't there in Office 2000. Graphics inserted into a worksheet
will not move with the rest of the sheet when using zoom levels other than
100%, if you later try to copy/paste the sheet.

Anyone can experience this by simply inserting an image into a table with a
little "positioning data" (to be able to see the layout problem). Then,
change the zoom level to less than 100%, copy the sheet with "copy image",
"as print
result", and then paste the image into the sheet, or into a WORD document.
You will see that the objects have moved compared to the table data.

Hopefully Microsoft will fix this eventually, but until then, only use 100%
zoom level if you wish to copy/paste sheets with inserted images.

Sometimes when I paste an excel 2007 object in Word 2007, the object has a
semi-transparent border around it and when I click to edit it, the screen
changes to Excel 2007 and I edit it directly. But, sometimes the object has
a black border around it and I have to double click it and edit it from Word,
but without being able to make changes I need to.

How do I set it up so pasted objects edit directly in the office application

3.Word 2007: Paste Special Excel Chart Object as Paste Link

When I do this the charts are cropped at the bottom which leaves out
important information like the horizontal axis and legend. I was able to fix
some of these charts by resetting the margins on the chart worksheet in Excel
2007 to Normal i.e. .75,.7,.75,.7 but this doesn't seem to fix the problem
across the board. Resizing the image in Word only stretches it out. The
only other option is to apply a negative crop in Word.

Any ideas? Let me know if more information is required.

When I try to paste an excel table as a picture into word 2007, it prints as

this? Someone suggested creating a pdf and then printing but this is not a
fix, just a cumbersome workaround.
