  • 2. Create workbook
My school is doing a Call-a-thon to raise some money. I have been asked to create a workbook to keep track of the donations as well as find out the largest donation, most donations (per individual), the most raised (per individual), and the most raised per capita for teams. They have asked for me to be able to edit the names and amounts on a laptop screen while showing just the current winners (with team members) and stats on a projector. I was wondering if anybody could create a workbook or give me some advice. Usually I am pretty good at this kind of thing, but this is just stumping me.
  • 3. Hide and unhide...what the heck!!??
Okay...I have been working with Excel a long time...and this one has me baffled! A co-worker is trying to hide/unhide columns in a pretty basic worksheet (Office 2003)...when he goes to Window-Hide...it hides the ENTIRE WORKBOOK...not a column, not a line, not even just a worksheet...THE WHOLE WORKBOOK just disappears! You go back to Window-Unhide and it asks if you want to unhide Workbook -(FileName)? When you click okay it is all back. We did discover that you can hide and unhide columns and rows by right clicking and using that route...but for some reason the other way does the funny business of hiding everything! Any thoughts on how to fix this would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance for any thinking (even fruitless), comments and answers, F茅lix

shift-edit paste picture in Excel

Postby UmVhbEdvbWVy » Tue, 27 Feb 2007 23:00:05 GMT

We recently upgraded to Office Pro 2003. I copy several cells from one tab to
another. Because of differences in column widths, I use the CTRL-COPY and
SHIFT-EDIT > PASTE PICTURE option. In Excel XP when I used the SHIFT-EDIT >
PASTE PICTURE menu command, the picture held the color formatting. In Excel
2003 it pastes as black text. Is there a way to get the color formats to be
pasted?

When copying from one worksheet to anotherr a keep formating you need to do
two steps. first paste the data. Then repeat the paste using the Edit Menu
- Select Paste Special. Select format.

The time someone in my office had a similar problem, his default printer was
a black and white printer and the "copy picture as printed" copied it in
black and white, so when he pasted it, it pasted in black and white.

1.Editing a Table Pasted from Excel into Word as a Picture (Enhanced Metafile)

Hi:

I am copying a section of an Excel Spreadsheet, and then pasting into
word using Paste Special -> Picture (Enhanced Metafile)

When I right click on the object in word, one of the menu choices is
"Edit Picture" This will allow me to change text in the picture, which
seems to be included through the use of text boxes. I make a minor
change that is required, but then I cannot seem to revert the image or
picture back to its previous form, which seems to be as a normal
picture file that has been inserted. The only way I can figure out
how to do this is by using the undo command, but I loose my text
chance. If the picture stays in the new, editable format, whenever I
click into it, all of the text is becomes highlighted, which really
slows down my ability to continue work on the rest of the document.
The new format seems to be seen by word as a Drawing Canvas.

Does anyone know how I can make a text change, and then get Word to
see the image as an inserted picture file again as opposed to this
drawing canvas?

Thanks,
Brooks

2.Editing a Table Pasted from Excel into Word as a Picture (Enhanced

If you need to edit the text in the table, I'd recommend pasting special as
an Excel worksheet object, not as a picture. It'll show as a metafile
anyway, but when you need to edit you can edit in in Excel.

3.Edit text in a picture in Word (to be pasted into Excel)

I have a word document which contains tables of data. When I am trying to
copy the tables of data to Excel, I am right clicking the mouse and it has
options to copy a picture. So while the data appears to be a MSWord table, it
is actually a 'picture'.
I want to just grab the raw text, paste it in excel and start some analysis.
Any suggestions how I can edit the picture and get the raw text into Excel?

4.Excel 2007 Beta Pasted Pictures All Turn Into Last Pasted Picture

I created a workbook with several pages. I copy and pasted 3 maps from
Microsoft Streets and Trips 2006 onto each sheet. When I close Excel 2007
beta and open it again, all of the pasted images are the same picture as the
most recently pasted image. This is something that I am able to duplicate
and it happens every time. It does not, however, happen in Excel 2002. Is
there something that I can do to fix this? Or should I wait until the next
beta release?
