  • 4. Cell contents freezes
Hi I have a massive workbook with 200+ worksheets. They all do various analysis from a data entry sheet. When I modify a sheet I use a dummy set of data in the data entry sheet to check evrything is working.Only problem is that when I eventually delete the dummy data, some worksheets still contain the linked data! even though the reference is set back to zero. the only way I can correct this is to re-enter the function with the link and then it recognises the deleted empty cell and resets itself OK. Any ideas why this might be or how I can solve it across the whole workbook? Many thanks

excel buttons grouped on taskbar

Postby tryer » Fri, 10 Jun 2005 14:33:23 GMT

If I have say 4 worksheets open at the same time there is only 1 excel
button on the taskbar, this has somehow changed as I previously would
have had 4 separate buttons. I have checked the taskbar properties and
ensured that "group similar items" box is not checked.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Go to Tools -> Options. On the View tab there is a checkbox that says
'Windows in Taskbar" Turn this on to have each workbook as a seperate item
on the taskbar

1.Taskbar "Group similar taskbar buttons"

I first thought that this was happening only to me and that it was related to
my profile somehow being "damaged". Now, since I've deployed Office 2003 to
others, they are reporting the same problem.  The problem is this;
If you have the option selected to "Group similar taskbar buttons" and an
app (let's say IE) has several groupings, sometimes (can't reproduce the
problem) I can no longer access this grouping. I click on the IE grouping in
the taskbar and nothing happens. I can maximize the other apps that have
only one "instance", but every app that has a grouping doesn't expand. I can
Alt+Tab to get to these apps, but can't do it in the taskbar anymore. I have
to logoff and back on to get back to "normal". Also, when I log back on, the
QuickLaunch bar is deactivated and I have to go and re-activate it. Any
ideas? Running Windows XP w/SP2 and Office 2003 w/SP2.

2.Taskbar group buttons unchecked and Excel

When I open several files at one time in Excel, the taskbar only shows one
file open, even though I have the taskbar group box unchecked. In order to
show each file I have to open each file individually. How can I eliminate
multiple steps to show each Excel file in the taskbar?

3.Office XP on W2K 'Group similar taskbar buttons'

I have Office XP running on windows 2000. All my Word
documents open using the same group in the taskbar (same
with Excel). Does anyone know how I can change this
behaviors and make sure that each instance of the
application will have it's own task button. I found an
option only in Windows XP, but not 2000.

4.Excel Taskbar button disappears when excel is minimized

I have been experiencing this issue for a few months now with excel 2003.

When I minimized excel, the taskbar button disappears and I am unable to see
the open worksheet anymore. If I open up Task Manager, under applications I
can see that excel is still running but in order to use it I must select it
and then switch to that task. Is there a way to make excel stop disappearing
from the taskbar? Although I can get back to my workbook it is starting to
become frustrating that I must use the task manager.

Excel is the only program experiencing this error. All other office programs
work great.

Any suggestions here will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

5.Taskbar not grouping Excel

My XP professional recently stopped grouping excel files, although it groups
all others. Also, alt-tab does not show separate files when multiple
workbooks are open, only a single instance of Excel.

Any suggestions?
