  • 1. "connection to server has failed"?
    This comes up when I try to check my email: The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'pop.NAMEOFWEBSITE.com', Server: '127.0.0.1', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E Does any one know how I can fix this?
  • 2. Messages Lost Through Compacting - Need To Recover
    Periodically, OE 6.0 will tell me it wants to compact messages. Upon completion of that task, blocks of messages for a several month period are sometimes missing from the middle of my OE folders, usually from the sent folder, but sometimes from the received folder. For example, Sent messages from 1/14/07 through 5/31/07 disappeared during one compacting. Then, Sent messages from 8/9/07 through 11/29/07 disappeared during another compacting. I rely on these messages as business/legal records and need to recover them (I need to prove that certain messages were sent.) Any thoughts on how I may do so? Also, based on this problem, I no longer want to compact. Any idea as to how I can turn off the compacting alert screen when it starts showing up? Thanks.

  • 4. how to retrieve compressed files?
    I can't find any compressed files in the folder that OE says it uses to store compressed files. As a matter of fact I've been dutifully compressing files when OE asks me to and now I can't find those files anymore. My inbox.dbx only has the files that OE left there after compression (emails received in the last 6 months). The same goes for sent mails and deleted mails. Can anyone help me out?

I just recently discovered that I am not receiving any mail from anyone with 
a yahoo mail account.  Originally, I thought the problem was specific to one 
e-mail account, but have learned that others have been sending me mail that I 
am not receiving -- all with a yahoo email.

Are they found in Deleted Items folder?

Are they found in your inbox on the your account's webmail page?

Neither.  I used to receive them, but now I'm not.  I've known about one of 
the accounts for awhile, but assumed there was some problem with just that 
one.  She sends mail to both my work (Outlook) and home (Outlook Express).  I 
get the mail at work but not at home.  I've checked and rechecked to make 
sure my address is entered correctly, and it is.  Just recently I discovered 
that I was not getting mail from someone else with a yahoo account.  I even 
sent an email to both people requesting a reply and I have not received 
anything.

No - Neither.

Okay, I just discovered something new.  I set up my own yahoo email to test. 
 When I send to my email -- nothing.  However, I sent to my husband's email, 
and it goes through.  We are set up with different identities in OE.

I have checked my blocked senders list over and over.  Besides, I just set 
up a yahoo email for myself today and that doesn't even go through.

Does your ISP do any anti-spam filtering before messages are available in 
your webmail page inbox or your Mail Client?

Does your webmail page include a Spam or Bulk Mail folder?

It certainly doesn't sound like the problem's on your end, SM.

After spending the better part of the day trying to figure out why my email 
account wasn't receiving any email from yahoo accounts, I finally found the 
culprit.

I even deleted my entire blocked senders list and set up a new identity for 
myself.  Then logged onto my webpage email and found that there was a 
separate blocked senders list.  And behold, the domain yahoo.com was in 
there.  I deleted the whole freakin list!!!

Brian -- The people I send to get the emails find. When they reply they get 
no sort of error report, so are not aware that their messages didn't go thru. 
I have added these names indivudually into my Safe Senders list and I have 
also added @yahoo.com into it. Don't know what else to try. (Also, their 
replies do not show up in my Junk Mail account.)
