  • 2. OE and WinXP Home
Hello: My wife and I have WinXP Home. We both receive email to the same email account. But now with WinXP, it stores user's setting in profile files. We would like to have both profiles point to the same OE Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items, etc. etc. Can this be done? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you. Mark
  • 3. Send and Receive all not working
Hello, Switched machines and successfully moved over all mail and address book from one to the other. However, on the new machine, clicking the send/recv button to perform a Send and Receive all does not work. I -very briefly- notice the progress box flick by on the screen, but nothing happens. I have to click the arrow on the right of the send/recv button and select the mail account directly from the drop down list to send and receive email. • 4. Demand that vendors help us stop spam.
I know that the people wanting to sell you stuff are the bad guys in this spam problem so we start demanding they furnish us with the email address they will be contacting us from. We add this address to our contact list and delete any mail not from our contacts. As long as they are nice and don't spam us they can stay on our contact list. If they know that the only way they will have a chance to continue to contact (spam) us is by not abusing the privilege this will stop the spam problem cold. Selling our email address would be useless and spamming our email address would no longer be good business. I don't see anything wrong in asking a vendor for a valid email address before you furnish them your personal information and most of all your money. I think it is time to end the spam madness and this would work. -- XXXX@XXXXX.COM Put "keyword" in the subject line.

Cannot open all folders from store folder

Postby PierreL » Tue, 21 Dec 2004 19:45:34 GMT

I have some folders in the store folder that do not pop up in the folder
window and are inaccessible.
How to get them back into the fold?
Thanks
Pierre

Could you supply some more details, like the names of the folders?

First, _copy_ all the content of your message store to some other folder!

Did you already try<? Does this give an error?
If so, at which folder?

1.The playlist cannot be opened because it is stored in a shared folder

2.This folder cannot be opened, error when printing public folders

Hello,

On a Exchange 5.5 network, we just upgraded the office to
Office 2003. No security changes have occured, and this
problem didn't exist with Office XP. When attempting to
print a Public folder (i.e. Office Calendar), all users
regardless of rights get "This folder cannot be opened
because there is a configuration problem on the server".

Any ideas would be most appreciated.

3.Cannot share Excel spreadsheets stored in Public Folders

My clients are having trouble sharing Excel spreadsheets stored in Publick
Folders in Outlook 2003 running on Exchange 5.5. Whoever saves the file last
has all their changes saved, overwriting everyone elses. Any ideas?

4.Error: Syncronization cannot be completed because Microsoft Outlook cannot open the Task folder

Outlook 2007, WMDC 6.1, Axim x50v running WM2003 SE

Error: "Synchronization cannot be completed because Microsoft Outlook
cannot open the Task folder. Close Outlook. Restart Outlook. With
Outlook running, disconnect mobile device and reconnet. If the problem
persists, reinstall Outlook."

I tried this and it doesn't work.

Notes and Files sync fine, so I know the connection is working. It's
the Outlook 2007 Contacts, Calendar, and Tasks that don't work.
Weirdly, Outlook Notes *do* sync.

Everything was working fine until I decided to tidy things up a bit.
(Yeah, I know. I should have left things alone.) I cleaned up and
moved my .pst files to another drive. Could be some files missing
that point to the location of the .pst files? I only moved the .pst
files.

What I've tried. Running a repair install on Outlook. Ran Office
Diagnostics, which found nothing wrong. And of course I followed the
directions in the error message.

Help! I need to get my syncing back.

5.Renamed Folders Revert to Previous Names, Cannot Move Folders - FOLDERS ONLY

Hello Staff and Users of Vista Forums,

Recently, less than a week ago, I lost the control to rename or move my
folders. As you can presume, this problem is very tedious. I have looked
around the topics here on Vista Forums and have not been able to solve
the problem. I have taken ownership of my folders and that hasn't
changed the situation as suggested. When I do attempt to rename or move
my folders, I receive no message, and the file stays where it was, how
it was. This only happens with my folders, my files show no resistence
to being moved or renamed as I see fit.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1 and have owned
the computer for around one and a half years. Vista was pre-installed.
Thank you for your attention and thanks in advance for your help.
