  • 1. MSNews Alert - how to stop
Greetings! I have MSNews Alert which comes through e-mail. I want to stop receiving these alerts. I have written to MSNBC without success. What can I do? With thanks.
  • 2. Thank you to Tom Koch and the people who steered my to his site!
I spent an entire day yesterday trying to get my system back on track. The problem I was having was event warnings and errors in the system and applications areas of XP. Just could not get a handle on where they were coming from...until OE took two minutes to open. I found a very thorough description of my problem, symptoms and resolution on Tom's site. Whew, I was just about to call it quits and try the dreaded system restore. Thank you Tom, and also to those who referenced your site! Happy Holidays, kristin ps. My problem...began when I was forced into an upgrade of Messenger, then tried to close it out. Dcom errors resolved with two registry changes.
  • 3. ##Req Help## IE6/.OE6 suddlenly looses Internet connection whiole browsing...NNTP continues working. Need any ideas.
Hi, Over the past few days, my WinXP SP1 (with all latest patches) works like this: 1. Everything is normal, OE6 , IE6 work fine as does my Agent newsreader. 2. Then suddenly while brosing and moving to a new URL (or page wihin URL), a popup box says the page cannot be viewed offline and at the same moment, OE thinks I'm offline. 3. I';m connected via a cable modem 4. At this time, my Agent nesreader continues to function normally downloading files etc. 5. WinXP popup asks to "Redial"...which isn't even a possibility! 6. When I look at "Network Connections", the Interenet Gateway show enabled as does everything else. 7. Running the Network setup wizard does NOT help. Nor does a reboot. 8. The only way I've been able to resolve the issue is to revert bavck to a restore point from a week ago. BUT... 9. While this gets things going again...after a few minutes to one or two hours running...with only OE6/IE6 and Agent active, the trouble will again arise at anytime. My system is 3 PCs connected to a Linksys router and then SB3100 modem., The other PCs on my network have no such problem. PLEASE...Any ideas?? THX Bob

Here is my latest article for the IE Community website. It's one of those
articles I've been meaning to write for the last 5 years or so. :-)

1.Multiple Accounts with multiple identities

I have four XP Home SP2 user accounts and four identities. I have set up all
four identities in each user account so that I can check all identities for
mail irrespective of user logon.

My problem is that the mailboxes for the identities do not synchronize
across user accounts. The result is that an item in a mailbox for account A
& identity B does not show in account B for identity B.

How do I correct this?

2.Multiple Profiles, multiple accounts, multiple machine configuring?

Is there a vb or related method of adding *both* profiles *and* email
accounts to multiple users logins from the administrator account? I have
a network which is a workgroup (NOT a domain), in which there are about
15 users that are replicated on each of 5 machines. I'd like to be able
to add all 15 Mail Profiles, and all 15 email accounts to each of the 15
logins on these 5 machines--obviously with as little work as possible.
The mail is all retrieved from the same Exchange Server, but these
machines *cannot* be added to a domain (don't ask!). I'd hate to have to
log into every user's account, on each machine, and install every name
and profile manually!

Any help is greatly appreciated!

3.Multiple email accounts to multiple PSTs or at least multiple Inbo

Is it correct that all the email accounts I configure within a profile have
to deliver mail to the same PST file? And by default, the mail is delivered
only to the Inbox folder? Would like to have the ability to create separate
PST files (each with their own Inbox) for each email account. Also, what's
"special" about the Inbox folder (icon, mail delivery, etc)?

5.Multiple Email Addresses..................Multiple Email Accounts

Outlook Beta 7

How do I create seperate email accounts on the same machine?
What I would like to accomplish is when I log on to Outlook it prompts me
for which email account/address I would like to use.

I have 2 different work email addresses/accounts and 1 personal account.

Thanks in advance!
