Hi Makoto, Do you have any other settings underneath this options checked (i.e. 'Remove from server after X days' or ' Remove from server when deleted from 'Deleted Items')? Do you know how many days (approximately) it takes for it to get unchecked? Do you have any anti-virus software installed? If so, what is it? And who is you ISP? I'm setting up an environment to try to reproduce this myself. Thanks! -- Amy Adams MS This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. • 2. Problem with OE after setting up McAfee???
My OE was working fine until I set up McAfee to run on my computer. I have a LAN system and connect to the internet via a T1 line. OE will open and display the messages in the Inbox, but when I try to open them, I get the following message: Message could not be displayed. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again. This computer is new and I don't understand why I'm getting memory or disk space errors. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance. The help that I have received here before has been invaluable.

Always open IE in a new window when clicking on a link in Outlook Express

Postby George Hester » Tue, 16 Dec 2003 13:36:06 GMT

I read here about a registry fix for this issue. Does anyone recall what it was? It sometimes works and other times doesn't. I'm hoping there is a fix so that it works at least 99% of the time. Thanks.

George;
IE/Tools/Internet Options/Advanced tab/UNCheck:
  Reuse windows for launching shortcuts
[Specifies that when you click a Web link in an Internet-aware program, such as Outlook Express, and
there is already an Internet Explorer window open, the Web page appears in the open browser window
instead of opening a new window.]
Apply/OK.

Yeah have that too. Oh well. I'll have to look back in my notes. I got it from here about 9 months ago. Like I said this works most of the time but many times it just doesn't. It is a known issue and was addressed here some time back. The person who posted it commisterated with the op and gave a fix which worked here. Not perfectly but better then it works now.

1.I.E. 5.5 click link and open a new window

I.E. 5.5 on W2k, is there a way to click a link and have it open a new I.E.
window by default, without using the right click "open in a new window"
option?

Doesn't matter to me but a user opened a ticket on it. After looking around
it appears that the right click method is the way it's supposed to work. He
said it used to work that way, a left click and it would open a new windows.
This was before the company was taken off Novell and onto AD, and everyone's
PC was reimaged. I don't know what version of I.E. he had previously.

Thanks,

2.Hyperlinks in Outlook 2003 always open new IE browser window

My last resort
Running Office 2003 with IE 6sp1
O/S Win XP sp1
Hyperlinks included in an Outlook email will always open a new instance of
IE no matter what! I can have no IE sessions open or multiple. I can click
the same hyperlink over and over and it will still open a new browser window.

I have tried the many "so-called" fixes to no avail.
I have done the IE advanced options "reuse window" option.
Tried the Use DDE option in the folder options for URL:Mailto protocol, HTM
and HTML.

I have tried the registry setting for Reusewindow value=1.
I have even tried changing the email editor from Outlook to Express and back
again to no avail as well.

It appears to be specific to Outlook 2003 and it works with Express and
older versions of Office work fine. I know many have had this problem but
has any solution been offered to fix this as well? This problem was
replicated on many machine at my company as well. Any ideas?

4.IE won't open new links in new window

I tried searching for something on this issue and couldn't anything. I have
WinXP Home and IE 6, everytime I have a new link come up in a new window it
just comes out blank. I have to hit stop and refresh for it to come out.
Doing this sometimes does work for links, so I am unable to view these
pages. Any help would be appreciated.
