  • 1. is it possible to create accounts from contacts in BCM?
I have imported many contacts in to BCM. I want them each to be allocated to an account as the prime contact. Is there any way to automate the process. Simply dragging to accounts doesn't seem to work
  • 2. Business contacts and accounts disappeared
Hi, I've just bought a new laptop with Office Pro Edition 03 with Outlook 03 two weeks ago. When I installed Outlook I typed in some business contacts and linked them to the relevant accounts I had made up. This worked fine for about a week and then one day I turned on my laptop and opened Outlook and both the accounts and business contacts had disappeared. The personal contacts are still there. I have tried entering them again but when I click on new contact or new account I get this message: Business Contact Manager was unable to initialise this form Any ideas? Thanks Penny
  • 3. viewing email address and phone/fax numbers in contact list
In the contact listI am unable to see the email address, phone number and some other items that have been entered in the contact general page, although it is shown in the email address book. Why can't I see the email addresses in the contact general page when it appears in the address book
  • 4. mark as private
Any ideas on whether we can mark Accounts as "private" ie. for only selected users to be able to view or edit them? For example, we have multiple users of BCM and certain account detail and email conversations with accounts are not relevant to some users. Thanks. Ian
  • 5. email
Can I click on an email address in the email field and have it automatically start a draft in outlook and show up as a history item and link the sent email to that customer? Also, what the heck is "internet free-busy zone"? and how do I use it to help create revenue?

I don't have a fix for you at the moment, but it sounds like you are an
advanced user. Try to track down the offending key with procmon.

1.BCM install error on XP SP3 with Outlook 2007 - cant install Interop

Hi, I have been trying to run the latest BCM .exe install on various
XP systems but keep hitting an error - cant install due to Office
Interop failure. The logs show its not permitted by the system
policy....but its a completely clean XP with Outlook 2007 pro with no
policies set. The control panel shows the Interop as installed but
there are no system files or evidence of it on the drive.

Has anyone worked out a fix for Interop error? I can see a few posts
on this but no fix! - I guess it must be an offending reg key
somewhere but I have had no luck finding one.

Thanks in advance

2.(revised) INSTALL BCM - uninstall BCM - install BCM - still no BCM

An Addendum - 10 minutes later)
I just went into the DATA FILE MANAGEMENT setting on OLK (outlook) and added
BCM. Like before - it installs it but there is NO TOOLBAR so I cannot
restore - move - or add contact to my old BCM contact database. (from a
previous version of outlook). SO - my problems are reduced to ADDING THE BCM
TOOLBAR to the top of my OUTLOOK 2003 window.
I have the OUTLOOK CONNECTOR showing but no BCM. thanx again - in advance -

3.Cant install BCM becasue SQL won't install

I've tried the tricks I found posted here (deleting all SQL programs,
deleting folders and emptying trash, and even cleaning the registry), but my
install of BCM won't install SQL. Any clued?

4.INSTALL BCM - uninstall BCM - install BCM - still no BCM

HI - whew - please help me get my OUTLOOK w/bcm to show my BC's again.

I excitedly have the fat 2 disk set of OFFICE SBM 2006. It works but for the
BCM (the second most important part after email). In increasingly desperate
attempts to get it to function correctly, I read and did most of what was
suggested here in this forum. I put in CD ONE to put in OUTLOOK, put in CD 2
to added BCM (and accounting) and after several attempts of install and
un-install and re-install I got it to work - BUT with NO TOOLBAR. sigh... 2
days full of frustrating hours I have NO BCM, NO TOOLBAR and NO MORE CLUES as
to what to do.

PULEEEEZE TEAM MS - help me get back to work here.
FEEDBACK CLUES: The registry (as in another post) says: REGDWORD (3) and
I've done ALL of the updates. BIG CLUE - I also re-installed WINXP (pro) and
noticed it added me (log in name) twice, once as DRIX (primary) and NOW I'm
DRIX.millhouse (my network) with my other programs still listed there but w/o
functionality to them. (sigh again...) PULEEEZE help me kidz - im losing
time - patience - AND the names/numbers to MY CLIENTS!!!!!!! (yikes!)
THANX - I'll be here waiting for your holy words of cure.
