If I make a link to a Business Project in BCM 2007 and open the link, there always comes a normal Outlook task formular and not the Project formular. If I make a link to an Project Task it opens the right Project task formular. Why doesnt it work with the projects?

BCM Contacts: Email Auto Link

Postby kita » Thu, 27 Sep 2007 07:45:13 GMT

Is there a way to set the auto link on as default vs. having to check
it each time a contact is added? This way all new contacts will
automatically be linked to emails sent and received.

I also had to copy my contacts from the default contact folder to BCM
contacts and it seems I have to go and email auto link each contact
individually.

If there is no default, is there a way to perform this on multiple
contacts?

Thanks
Kita

1.Contact has multiple email adds, how do I auto-link to both in BCM

I have contacts who have more then one email address and although I have them
listed within my Business Contact Record only the first email address is
available for auto linking within Business Contact Manager. Is there a way
to auto-link email which are sent by a persons secondary email address?

I would like to place a call thru the dial in outlook 2007 with bcm, and have

3.Auto Link Task to Contacts in BCM

Recently upgraded a friend's OS from XP Home (running office 2007 SME with
BCM) to Vista Home Premium with (same office)

I had back up BCM database on XP and restore it after upgrade to VISTA.
Under Windows Vista
I no longer can link my existing tasks to the Business Manager Contact.
( had to to each task manully )

On a different machine
Before formatting the HDD in XP, I made a back up of the old disks. So I
restored the XP ( to a different Hard Disk to check the settings.
Opening otulook has the following error:
Business Contact for Outlook could not connect to the shared database. Do you
want to work off line?

I answered "NO" to above question

Clicking Business Contact :
The set of folders cound not be open. Store not configured.

I had also restored BCM database to other spare computers, and the link to
record could be be imported.

Any suggestions to get the BCM to work correctly.

The Vista machine is at the freind's office. I had his BCM on XP machines
1) Just importing the database => same as Vista cannotl ink to record
2) Retored from MT Backup (Microsoft Backup) ==> cant open BCM

(Note: 20/20 I should have kept the old disk intact and use a new disk tfor
the Vista. That is why I am here asking question.)
I had on hand Back Up of Entire Disk and well as the PST file and BCM
Database if required.

4.BCM and auto linking files/emails

Can I automatically link files to an Opportunity or an Account? If so, how is this accomplished? Also can emails be automatically linked to either an Account or an Opportunity or both?

5.BCM email Auto Linking buggy

Using Office 2007 outlook with BCM on XP

This is a repost because I received no reply need to resolve this problem.
The BCM auto email linking is great, but, it does not work:

Problem 1)
Enter a new BCM contact and enable auto linking (it works fine).
Change that clients email address from its original email address (auto
linking stops working, even if you re-enable it for that contact, which you
should not have to do).

Problem 2)
Some accounts it does work, some it does not. I have no idea what the
difference is. all account are enabled for auto linking of email

Question 3)
How can you tell if a BCM contact has already have AutoLinking turned on?

These problems cripple the value of BCM and is a ridicules bug.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this?

Thanks,
Bob
