I installed MS Office Prof. Plus 2007 Beta and then Outlook 2007 With Bus. Contact Manager Beta. I am not able to open or boot Business Contact Manger. I get an error message that says it can't map IrisMs.DLL. Previously I had MS Office Pro 2003 and I had downloaded the new Business Contact Manager for My MS Outlook 2003, it was working fine. I did not uninstall Office or Outook 2003 before my Beta install. I have my emails, but my contacts are in the contact folder only instead of separate files, Business Contact Manger won't start at all. What do I need to do to get MS Office programs working, Micrsoft Outlook and also Business Contact Manger? I would like to preserve the emails and contacts that have been imported into Outlook 2007. I am not a teckie but can follow directions. When I look in control panel I see : Microsoft Office Web Components Microsoft Office Online Beta Control Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager Update Mircosoft Office Professional Edition 2003 Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 (Beta) Microsoft Office Small Business Connectivity Components Microsoft Outlook Personal Folders Backup. • 3. Is Outlook with Business Contact Manager right for my business?
I am a home based, small business owner, currently using Office 2003. I would like to make better use of my database (for instance, generate list of top 100 clients or all clients who purchased from me in any given year). I have read about Outlook with Business Contact Manager and it seems like it might be the right software solution for me. Any advice or comments from current users would be most appreciated. If Business Contact Manager is indeed the right software for my business, do I need to upgrade to Office 2003 Small Business Edition or can I continue to use Office 2003? Thanks for your help. -- Cruise Planners
  • 4. Office Prof 2007 trial installation -- don't have "valid license"
I've downloaded the Office Professional 2007 package (both files) from the MS Office downloads webpage. I've been using Office XP/2002, and I uninstalled Outlook prior to installing the trial so as to allow installation of Outlook 2007. I've never had a 2007 Beta installed. The download and installation seemed to proceed correctly. When opening Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager, the Startup wizard launches, inviting me to create a BCM database using either the "Express" or "Advanced" radio buttons. With either button selected, when I click "Next,", I get the error message: "Database creation was unsuccessful because you do not have a valid Microsoft Office 2007 license to use Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007" (I'm left with no choice but to cancel the wizard). Although this would appear to be a true statement as I have yet to "activate" the trial, I assumed that the trial would allow the creation of a database as this would be fundamental to evaluating the product (especially for my needs...). Is there a solution to this problem? Ideas? Thanks! -- David

cann't upgrade my office SME (Including outlook with BCM)

Postby TW9zaGU » Tue, 20 Jan 2009 18:43:01 GMT

I am trying to upgrade my office SME (Including outlook with BCM) from 2003
to 2007, it won't install BCM -
The steps performed:
 1. I have first installed the trail version over the 2003 and
have it work without upgrading outlook to 2007 (remained 2003 with BCM)
Office 2007 worked fine.
 2. Once I decided to have a full move, I have downloaded my Open
licensed install files and installed them over the version I had. Then I
removed outlook 2003 and installed Outlook 2007. The next step was to install
BCM.

the message I received:
"Setup failed to install Business Contact Manager for outlook 2007. See
c:/?../MBSsetuptmpe3A5.log for more details?

The following is the log file:

I have repeated this attempt several times.

Whenever I?m trying to remove the BCM (uninstall) I receive the following
message:
?Setup failed to remove the following product: Business Contact Manager for
Outlook 2007?

The product that I have installed is:
SW_CD_Office_Small_Business_2007_W32_English_1_PA_BP_MLF_X12-19200.EXE

And the BCM version is:

SW_CD_NTRL_Business_Contact_Manager_2007_W32_English_X13-05848.EXE

I'm struggling with this issue for several weeks and it hurts my business.
Please help ASAP.
Thanks,
Moshe

2.Upgrading MS Office 2003 SME with MS Office 2003 Pro Upgrade Disk

I bought an Office 2003 Pro upgrade disk a couple of years back. A new user
has just started at the company with a Vista Business laptop running Office
2003 SME. I have both disks and packages and licence keys. Yet the Upgrade
will not recognise the SME version. (it won't even recognise an Office 97
Pro disk for that matter) and throws and error before aborting.

Can anyone advise if this is a function of Vista Business, or Office SME.
For the record all my other users were upgraded from Office 97 Pro to 2003
pro via the same method without hitch (on XP pro). I have downloaded Office
2003 SP3 in readiness, assuming I can get the soft3ware to upgrade in the
first place.
Any thoughts, please?

4.Upgrade Office 2K to include Outlook 2003

I have a central install point for Office 2000 which I set up with the
custom installation wizard. I now want to upgrade Outlook to 2003 and I
can't figure out how to get that done. I can use a wizard again to create
an mst for the Outlook msi, but it doesn't ask me for a license key during
that process and the end user ends up being asked for it. How do I avoid
this?

Is it possible to recreate the Office 2000 setup, but to include the
information in the Outlook msi... but with the license key? Or some other
way?

Thanks for any suggestions?
