BCM 2007 installation failed



  • 1. Cascading information from user-defined fields
    Hi I'm new to BCM. I want to know if it is possible to create user-defined fields at the Account level such that when you enter data into them, the same data is cascaded down to the corresponding user-defined field of a business contact linked to that account. Constantine
  • 2. Error Loading form. - NOT the Quickbooks or Cache clearing issue!
    This is a new one. Same error as the folks who had problems with Quickbooks and the CLSID Registry keys posted earlier in this forum. But I do not have quickbooks nor the offending registry entries. Error is : Error loading form. Some of the needed controls may not be registered. Occurs when: I click on Business contact or Account "history". Oddly - everything else is functional - I can still create new history items and see them in the Communication History folder. Please for the love of baby jesus somebody help me with this one!!!!! Thanks,
  • 3. Error Message after update
    I was trying to attach an e-mail message to a couple of business MGR Contacts and got a meessage that there was an error and outlook hd to close. I clicked "report error" (my first mistake) and got the link to Microsoft Office Update and after validation was suggested that I update my Outlook 2003. I updated and almost at the end of the update there was an SQL error (couldn't load) and it aborted the update and LEFT UNINSTALLED all my Business Contacts and notes!!!!! It ways the file was corupted or tampered with. If anybody Corupted or tampered with it, it was Microsfoft during the update. I even went back and did a System Restore 2 x going back further each time and the server and the Active x files have been corrupted. (one message was SQLEVN70.RLL) I've got an aweful lot of client data in those files I better be able to recover them!! Can someone offer some help in laymans terms please.

  • 5. BCM for Outlook could not complete your last action.......
    I'm working on a unit with Outlook and BCM 2007. It's Vista as well. I've been using the BCM for quite some time without problem. This morning when I was going through and making a backup the system crashed--I don't know if it was caused by BCM or some other application. I had to force a shutdown and reboot on the machine. Now when I go from my Outlook contact list to the BCM contact list--I get this error "Business Contact Manager for Outlook could not complete your last action or actions. Please try again." I've run diagnostics and also checked the database for errors. I've reviewed the questions here and don't see much of a response for this particular error. BCM seems to work correctly. The error occurs anytime I go to view either the Accounts or Contacts for BCM. It doesn't seem to be in the database itself--but just when you first go to look at BCM contacts. There is no error when I look at contacts in Outlook. I'll probably try to clear and restore the database next---but wanted to check here first. Since the database seems to be ok--I'm guessing I'll still have the problem after restoring it. Thanks and Have a great day, Rusty

BCM 2007 installation failed

I have installed Office Professional 2007 with no problems, however when I 
attempt to install BCM with the separate CD the installation fails whilst 
installing "small business connectivity components".

The full error message reads: "Setup failed to install the required 
component Microsoft Office Small Business Connectivity Components. Business 
Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 cannot continue..."

I am then referred to MBSetuptmp7.log for more information. The last 20 
lines of this file are shown below:

I hope you are more successful getting this question answered than I have 
been.  I also cannot get BCM installed.  I get a message that reads "Setup 
failed to install Business Contact Manager."  I am so frustrated....I 
requested help on 1/27/07--so far no replies.

I cleared out my temp files by clicking start>run and typing %temp%. Delete 
everything in there, and try the installation again. It seemed to work for 
me. But yes, I figured this out for myself. No help forthcoming from 
Microsoft for my 400 purchase...

Thanks for sharing your answer.  It did not work for me.  I carefully 
followed the resolution given in KB928218.  Only to end up in the same place. 
 BCM won't install.  You have been the only response to my plea for help.  
When the set up fails, I get referred to a log file that doesn't exist.

now have BCM installed, but I changed 2 things so I am not sure which
corrected the problem. First, I exported then deleted this registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Business Solutions eCRM. Second, I
installed .NET Framework 3.0. I suspect the solution is the first one, but
just in case I thought I should list the second one also.

hanks csfy ! Deleting the key you identified worked for me - I too had the
"setup failed" problem for at least 3 months with no working resolution,
until now. I already had .Net Framework 3.0 installed.

There are seversal possibilities.  Are you logged in as Administrator when activating the software?

What is the exact message you're getting and the steps you're following?

Did you previously have a beta version of Office 2007 installed?

4.BCM Fails during installation

I received a virus on my PC which disabled all my programs.  I had to 
reinstall Office 2003 and BCM.  When I try to install BCM the installation 
fails saying it can't contact the server?  Also, do you know where my 
original BCM database information is stored?  Please let me know if you're 
able to help...I'd really appreciate it.
