Ok here goes. Lets start with I did get the BCM for Dummies book and I 'm still needing help. I have imported over 3000 accounts and none of the street # or street name show up in the account. Also I'm tring to link business contacts to Acounts and again same program on the address and the 2 are not sharing info that is the same on both. I then go in and start changing things press save and close. reopen and the chages are not there. Can you re import info to the same accounts that didn't show up or that you now want to add to all. Can you change the look of all business contacts with out editing each one Or do I need to delete all and start over? Thanks to all that help!! -- J9
  • 2. Unable to Connect to Original MSSmallBusiness db file
When opening BCm within Outlook, the original db MSSmallBusiness is unaccessible through the data file management in Outlook. For some reason, there is a new db called MSSmallBusiness2 which is empty. I have tried to find the original BCM data file in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Business Contact Manager but there is no file located here. I have a .bcm backup, but it is 8 days old and I have made substantial changes since. How do I restore my original .bcm, .mdf, or .ldf?

I created the database loged in as the admiistrator and now the user cant backup or perform other administrative updates/customizations. Dont want to make them a local administrator on the PC is avoidable. Steve

Putting a database on another machine (e.g. SBS; much discussed here.
Try searching this newsgroup on Google) is a different matter from
putting a database on a network share.

New security features in Windows software tend to steer users and apps
away from using network shares for anything but ad-hoc document
sharing. I wouldn't recommend keeping sql server database files in a
shared folder for a variety of reasons.
