My question is, there is a rule in Outlook 2003 and 2007 which allows you to send your email to another folder, in my case, the Tasks folder. However, when you send it that way, it goes into tasks as an email. You can drag an email and drop it into tasks and it converts to a task, but if you send it by rule, it stays an email. Does anyone know how to get it to convert to a task? We need to automate that portion because of the volume of email coming in, which are actually service requests, and it would be perfect if we can get them to come in as tasks.

Outlook: 12.0.6014.5000 MSO 12.0.6017.5000 BCM: 3.00.6402.00 I've recently upgraded to Outlook 07 / BCM 07. Trying to continue business as usual - i've been emailing with my clients since upgrading. Just noticed that none of the emails are getting linked to the account records. I checked BCM / 'manage auto-email linking' and all contacts and folders are selected. Is there something else i'm missing?? I could run the 'search and link' but it locks me out until its done and I don't have the time to wait, except at night. Do I have to do this each night to get these to link? I have installed the not-so-performance update to outlook and the bcm fix to that. I think I'm up to date?? ((was I supposed to see a performance boost after installing the update - if so, I sure haven't))

Sharing BCM contacts within Workgroup, Leads and Projects

Hi There!

Is it possible to acess some contacts in my workgroup?

I would like to share some contacts in order to work together with my
commercial team. That way we could look to some share leads and projects, and
do some follow up together.

Is this possible?

If yes, only with same version? Different versions together? etc.
Thanks in advance!

Yes.

BCM 2007 and 2010 supports this. You can't mix versions.

That is clearly explained in documentation and is done in a matter of a
few clicks.

Have you installed the product?

Yes. I have installed.

There is a tool in order to be able to share databases. Can you please give
me detailed information in order to be able to share the same repository
within the workgroup?

Thanks

So, how does it work?

1.Sharing Outlook Emails within Workgroup PCs

Hi,

I have set up a workgroup with 3 PCs, of which two desktops run on Windows
XP Home and one laptop runs on Windows XP Professional. Microsoft Office
2003 has been installed on all the three machines.

My question is: How can I share emails among the PCs in these workgroup
without the usage of a server? Is additional software needed for this
purpose? If yes, what are the best ones with a balance between quality and
costs? Any other suggestions for this purpose?

Thanks in advance for your advices.

2.share calendar within workgroup

We've got 4 computers in our small law office. I was
going to try to connect them all via our DSL router to
create a workgroup so that our secretary can put/send
appointments to our calendar.

Is there a way for her to share our calendar?

Thank You

3.should i use contacts or the BCM to track initial sales leads

I'm looking to track intial (first touch) telemarketing leads. Track a
contact, notes, call backs and potential meetings. Should I track these
"leads" as a contact or as a business contact? Should i use contacts for just
friends and non business contacts? i'm looking for insight into both the use
of contacts vs business contacts as well as the best way to start tracking
sales call, notes and meetings prior to them realy becoming a business
opportunity, a sale and a client.

4.calling a project module from within another project in excel 2000

I have 2 workbooks open : workbook1 and workbook2 each with it's own project
: project1 and project2. I can't call a sub that's in project2 from within
project1.

I tought that something like [project2].[modulename].subname should do the
job but it doesn't work.

Does anyone has a solution for this ?

thanks

5.Defining "Project Task" views within a "Business Project" window

I have become fairly familiar and competent with defining views in BCM.
However, there's one view I have not be able to define AND make it stick.

Within an open Business Project window, I go to the bottom area of the
window where the Project Tasks are located. However, the Project Tasks are
not organized in a view that I want. I can right click on the Project Task
header and customize the view, but as soon as I leave the page and come back,
the view goes right back to what it was before I changed it.

Normally you can simply define a view a save it. However, in this case the
hard part is that since you must have the Business Project page open to see
this view, there is no way to access View > Current View > Define View as the
same time. In other words, you can only be on one page or the other so it's
impossible to save the view that was just made within the Business Project
page.

Any suggestions?
